Chin Strap Beard Styles

Beards have long been a way to being manly. The longer and more rugged a beard, the manlier one is. Modern society, however, has created some exceptions to this rule. One of them is today's chin strap.
The chin strap beard is a type of beard, whose popularity continues to blossom among the male population. They all follow a similar pattern and have a thin line of facial hair, which starts from the upper jaw on one side of the face, around your chin, right till the other side and looks a lot like, as the name amply suggests, a strap around your chin.

Shaving for a Chin Strap

Growing a chin strap beard is a pretty easy task, as is maintaining it. All you need to do to get this awesome facial hair style is to shave all the facial hair around the chin and then leave that hair the way it is. And then there is the simple matter of trimming it with a trimmer once in a week (depending on how fast the hair grows) while simultaneously shaving the non-chin-strap hair off completely. All this makes the beard one of the easiest beard styles to grow and maintain.

Growing the Chin Strap

The Basic Trim
The basic style is an evenly cropped strip of facial hair that runs down the upper jaw right along the chin and then to the other side. You can very the thickness of the strap depending upon what suits your face best and it can be anywhere from a millimeter thick to an inch thick. It is easy to maintain and all you need to do is trim it once in a while and shave its surroundings off. For effect, you could also grow a mustache and a French beard with the strap, but of course maintaining the whole thing can be a real headache.

The Broken One
Here the beard runs up to the lower jaw on both sides of the face, but not below it. This beard is even easier to maintain because the difficulty which exists in trimming the part of the chin strap around the chin can be a little bit tricky.

The Pointed Strap
This one goes great with the bald look. Here the chin strap starts at the upper jaw thick, but then tapers towards the lower jaw. Like the broken chin strap, the two sides are not connected. You can extend it along the lower jaw as well to good effect. Another cool thing you can do with the beard is to grow a soul patch. The pointed beard is slightly more difficult to maintain, as shaving the facial hair around the chin perfectly on both sides of the face can pose to be a problem.

The Thin Strap
The last of the styles is the thin beard. Looks pretty good if you do not have a thick beard and is as thin as a line drawn with a pencil. Easy to maintain and looks pretty neat!

If you love maintaining a beard and want to go the full Monty, you can keep a French beard and a soul patch and yes, it looks great!
