Childhood Sweethearts (11)

Second to last chapter......
*A FEW MONTHS LATER*

It had been a few months since we had gotten our first CD out, with 7 of my lyrics on it and the rest out of 12 were from the band. We were going to save some of our better lyrics for our next CD that we would be working on after we got back from tour.
I began packing my things for our first tour ever. I was extremely frightened. The fans had taken a liking to our music and two of our songs were on the hit list. Teardrops from the Sky at number 1 and What They Don't Tell You about Massacres, which was at number 3. It was really quite exciting actually.

We'd been performing small gigs for the last few months. Almost every time we played, the show had been sold out. Fans were demanding big concerts and a tour, which led to our current situation. I was so nervous yet excited at the same time, though I was happy to have Justin there to calm me down.

I finished packing my stuff and tossed my duffel bag into the corner of my room. I packed important stuff I would need in my messenger's bag, which also served as a purse. I put it next to my duffel bag and plopped down on my bed. I closed my eyes for a mere moment, unintentionally falling asleep.

I woke up to Justin carrying me downstairs. I snuggled into his well-built chest, wrapping my arms around his neck. He set me down on his lap on the couch.
"Good afternoon to you too, Rayna." He smiled sweetly and pecked me on the lips.
I nodded and smiled back, resting my head on his shoulder and burying my face in the crook of his neck. Suddenly, the door flew open and Deliah burst in, followed by Rex. She darted over to me and engulfed me in a tight hug.
"I haven't seen you in forever, Rayna!" She squealed, pulling me off Justin's lap and spinning me around.
"I just saw you a week ago!" I whined, collapsing in her arms once my feet were firmly planted, though we both fell to the ground anyway.
I pushed her off me and spread my arms and legs out on the ground. Rex came over and sat on my stomach. I bolted up straight, gasping for air.
"Geeze Rex! Get your fat ass off me!" I groaned, finally managing to send him tumbling on top of Deliah, who was still on the ground.
I brushed myself off and stood up. I grabbed Justin's hand and dragged him outside to the bus. We quickly climbed on and I pulled him into the back of the bus to the bunks and pulled him into mine. I snuggled up to him and we fell asleep.

* * A Few Weeks Later * *

I wiped the sweat off my forehead and continued to play my guitar as I threw a smile to Justin. He winked back at me with his own dazzling smile. We were just ending our last song for the night. We'd be driving to our next stop for tour tomorrow.
We ended and exited the stage dramatically as the curtains closed behind us. I jumped into Justin's arms, giving him a big sweaty hug. He pulled away and cringed at the same time.
"Ewe. You're all gross." He faked a disgusted look, for he knew that he was drenched in sweat as well.
"Well, then I guess you don't get any more of my hugs!" I fake cried and ran around as he chased me for a hug.
I managed to trip over something backstage and land flat on my face. He flipped me over after he had landed on me, and pinned my body under his own.
"Justin! Get off me, now!" I whimpered.
"Mwah ha ha. Never!" He buried his face into my neck, not caring if I were really sweaty anymore.
Rex picked Justin off me. He smirked at Justin and placed him up straight, dusting him off, before coming and helping me up. Then he threw me over his shoulder and carried me towards the bus.
We all took turns in the shower and sat on the couches, watching TV as the driver took off down the highway to our next stop. This was how our life was going to be from now on. I couldn't wait until the next shows.

* * * A Few Years Later * * *

Our band was doing great. We were really popular when we were new, yet we still carry that reign. They love us - a lot. Our concerts are usually packed, people fight to buy tickets, and it gets pretty wild on tour.
It was especially packed tonight, because it was my birthday. They held signs saying, 'happy birthday Rayna!' and 'We love you Rayna, Happy B-Day'. It was quite amazing to see how much influence I have brought over these people.

It was my 21st birthday to be exact, and I have been a good girl - no matter how intense or rowdy tour gets when the partiers decide to join us. Justin said he had a big surprise for me, and I couldn't wait.

We were just about to head off stage, but Justin stopped us all as he spoke into the microphone. This was not supposed to happen. We were just supposed to get off stage as soon as we finished our last number.

"Alright ladies and punks, I have a very special surprise for Rayna. It's her birthday you know? She's turning 21 at midnight tonight. That's why we planned this concert so late, just for her surprise..." Justin chuckled as the crowd roared and cheered. He turned and winked at me.
"Deliah, will you do the honor of counting down while I get... ready...?" He had a mischievous smirk on his face as he handed over the mike.
She also had an evil glint in her eyes as she accepted, standing directly in the center of the stage, though more towards the front.
"10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!" She said as the clock was about to strike midnight on October 31st - I was born on Halloween and I am very proud of it.
Justin took my hand and looked at me lovingly. He was planning something. My eyes widened. When he got down on one knee, I couldn't believe my eyes. The entire crowd gasped simultaneously.

"What did you get yourself into now, Justin?" I asked, grinning madly.

He returned a grin just as broad and luminous as mine was. He brought a black velvet box out of his pocket. He kissed my hand before looking up at me and opening the box. I gasped when I surveyed the beautiful ring inside. The diamond in the center was huge with small diamonds and sapphire gems around the pure silver band.

"Rayna, I've loved you with all my heart since the first time I met you. Will you marry me?" He asked, standing up to meet my gaze. I looked up at him, tears of joy threatening to spill from my eyes. I threw my arms around his neck.
"Yes!!! Id love to marry you! I love you, Justin!"
"I love you too, Rayna." He wrapped his arms tight around me, almost as if - when he let go it would have just been his imagination.

Justin carefully slid the ring onto my finger as the crowd applauded, cheered, and catcalled. It was definitely one of the happiest moments of my life. I couldn't wait until our wedding day.
