I took a look at my closet that was pretty much a curtain of black and purple. I sighed and thought, maybe Carson would know what to do. I left my room and sneaked down the hall to Carson's room.

'Carson?' I murmur peeking my head in to the door. But found the room empty. 'Carson?' His bed was still made from yesterday...

Did he even come home from Tiffany's last night?

Ew.

I sighed and went back to my room, slipping on some shorts on then faced my closet again. I flipped through all the long sleeve shirts I had in my closet. I slid to the floor frustrated. I saw a pink bag in the back of my closet. I slowly pulled it out and saw a sticky note attached.

When You Change Your Mind.
-Mom

I pulled out a purple tank top. It wasn't goth or emo looking, it was a normal girl looking. I remembered this, it was the shirt mom wanted me to wear for Carson's homecoming but I threw it out the window... Mom must have gotten it from the yard and stuck it in here.

I laughed to my self remembering my brave act. I slipped it on and looked at myself in the full length mirror. I looked.. normal. My hair was starting to fade back to blonde, so it looked like light brown now and I didn't mind that.

I grabbed some money I had saved from working at the book store and headed downstairs.

'BreAnna?' Grandma asked from the kitchen when I was at the front door.

'I'm gonna go out with Lynne and Josie, is that okay?' I ask her poking my head into the doorway of the kitchen.

'That's fine dear.' She smiles and I run out of the house. I met my friends at the mall where we started to shop.

'We are so proud of you.' Josie quickly said when she came up to stand next to me while I bought the blue shirt Lynne picked out for me.

'Why?' I laugh.

'It's your first non-black piece of clothing, in forever.' Lynne answered.

'Yeah, you've really changed this summer.' Josie smiles.

'And we like the new you.' Lynne continues for her.

'Well it's not new, I've always been this way, but I felt like I had to be someone else.' I grin.

'Well keep being yourself,' Lynne starts.

'Cause we like it.' Josie finishes. We laugh at their communication method. We kept shopping and a few hours we were in the food court laughing at Lynne and her joke about a fat guy across the mall when Drake Drewson walks by with two of his friends Blane and Junior.

'Hello Ladies.' Drake comes up to our table and smiles at us. Lynne became quickly distracted with Blane and Josie with Junior. Yes we were in fact in love with these guys.

'Hello Boys.' I smirk back.

'Boys? We aren't boys, we are Men.' Drake stood taller puffing out his chest only making me laugh.

'Mhm, Sure.' I roll my eyes playfully.

'Do you ladies mind if I take your friend from you this evening?' Drake charms my friends.

'I don't know.. I kinda came here with them-'

'No! No!' Josie quickly cuts me off.

'No, that's okay, we'll take your bags home for you if you want us to.' Lynne explains.

'Um, are you sure?' I ask them.

'Oh yeah, totally.' Josie smiles. 'Go have fun.'

'Alright, if your sure.' I slowly get up.

'YES, yes, go.' Lynne encourages.

'Ready my lady?' Drake holds out his hand.

'I'm no ones lady, and sure, why not.' I smile taking his hand. He intertwined his fingers with mine and leads me out of the mall, into the unknown.

We were laughing as Tiffany and I came in from lunch.

'WHERE HAVE YOU TWO BEEN?!' My grandma quickly snapped, as soon as we were inside. Our laughter stopped immediately.

'Um, lunch, Mary.' Tiffany tells her.

'Mhm, I went into your room this morning to wake you up for a surprise breakfast in bed this morning, Carson, and guess what?' she sounded sweet.

'What?' I asked trying to act like I wasn't guilty.

'You weren't there!' she snapped again.

'I crashed at Tiffany's last night.' I make up an excuse.

'Well you could have called. You had me worried.' She frowns.

'I'm sorry, next time, I'll call.' I kissed her forehead.

'Tiffany, dear, we have a lot to talk about, come in here and we'll have our girl time.' Grandma smiled again taking Tiffany's hand and lead her into the other room, but all I could do is smile before running upstairs.

I spent most of the day reading a book BreAnna recommended for me. When I finally ripped my eyes from the page to look at the time, it was 10:30. What the hell? I've spent all day reading and forgot dinner. I got up and slipped out of my room quietly, knowing Grandma and Mom would be sleeping already, only to find a dark shadow coming from the hall window. I flipped on the hall window and went downstairs and made a ham and lettuce sandwich before sneaking back upstairs.

I found a black shape in the now dark hallway that I had left bright.

'BreAnna' I hiss, she turned around and smiled wirily at me and I motioned for her to join me in my bedroom. She followed me inside and I flipped on the light, we quietly laid down on my bed and she murmured,

'Can I have half your sandwich?' I handed her half and we went back to quietly munching.

'So what exactly are you doing, sneaking in at 11 o'clock at night?' I look over at her to find her smiling remembering.

'Well this morning I had left to go shopping with Josie and Lynne then we ran into Drake Drewson and him and I hung out.' Her smile grew wider.

'And why is your hair tosseled? Where you doing-'

'EW! No, no, no! We went to the amusement park and road roller coasters all day.' She smiled before stopping and looking at me. 'What about you, you didn't come home last night from Tiffany's and I wanted you opinion on a shirt and I'm pretty sure I know what you were doing.'

'Okay, maybe me and Tiffany were, but don't tell Grandma, she would have a heart attack because of surprise.' I tell her and we are quiet again, before I comment, 'But I do like your shirt' I take a bite of my half of the sandwich.

'Oh, yeah.' she looks down at her shirt as though she forgot what it look like.

'So what did you buy? More black?' I asked.

'Nope, I actually bought a blue top, three skirts...' and the night went on with us just talking.

Like we were long lost friends.
Which we kind of were.
I missed my sister.
And I was glad to have her back.
But I knew I would have to tell her, and everyone else about why I left.
