Contact Dermatitis
This is one of the most common causes of itchy rash. It is caused when the person comes into contact with some allergic substances like food allergens, chemical allergens or environmental allergens. These allergens may include pollen, animal fur, dander, detergents, soaps cosmetics, perfumes, dyes, lotions, etc. These reactions may be hypersensitive and may also lead to the formation of blisters, ulcers, etc. It can also be observed as a circular red rash. It is very necessary to consult the doctor if the condition before the condition becomes critical.

Heat Rash
Heat rashes are very common and are caused due to hot and humid climate. It is caused due to a bacterium Staphylococcus epidermis which causes infection of the skin on the chest. Sweat gets trapped inside the sweat glands which gives a favorable environment to the bacteria to flourish which results in itchy rashes. These rashes are also known as sweat rash or prickly rash.

Seborrheic Dermatitis
Seborrheic dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin which is caused due to a yeast infection. It can be characterized by scaly lesions and itchy plaques. These skin conditions can become critical under extreme weather conditions. Stress, fatigue, obesity, HIV, vital infections, etc. may elevate this condition.

Acne Vulgaris
This is a type of acne which usually appears on the upper chest. It can be caused due to the plucking of the hair follicles which may get infected and result in the growth of bacteria. It can be observed as the formation of painful pustules which may leave pigmented scars on the chest. It can also be seen in women. But the reason behind these acne in women is generally hormonal changes that they go through.

Shingles
It is caused due to the varicella zoster virus. This is the same virus which causes chickenpox in children. The virus remains in a dormant state and gets active when the person gets ill or has a low immune power. These rashes can be very painful.

Pityriasis Rosea
This type of skin condition is not very harmful but its treatment is not known. It only lasts for few weeks as a red flaky patch, which may look like acne after sometime. It is similar to the discoid eczema or psoriasis.

Treatments for Chest Rash

Treatment for chest rashes will depend upon its causes. To get rid of the painful, itchy rash on chest you can follow the remedies given below.
  • There are some anti-inflammatory oils like olive oil, chamomile oil, etc. which can be very helpful in treating rashes. Just apply any of these oils on the affected place.
  • Aloe vera is considered to be very effective against itchy rashes. Take an aloe vera leaf and slit it from the middle to extract its gel. Apply the gel on the chest and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat the procedure 2 to 3 times a day.
  • In case of heat rashes, rubbing ice cubes can be very helpful. Rub ice cubes gently on the heat rash. Repeat the procedure 2 to 3 times daily.
  • Some antifungal, anti-bacterial medications and ointments can also be very beneficial in case of rashes.
