  • For causes such as esophageal spasms, drug treatments such as the application of anti-cholinergic is done in order to relieve chest pain.
  • If gastrointestinal disorders, more popularly known as GERD, are the cause of chest muscle pain, then it can be treated with the help of medications such as H-2 blockers and proton pump inhibitors.
  • If chest muscle is caused due to anxiety then anti-anxiety drugs are used. Or if depression has been the major reason, then some antidepressants are given.
Chest Pain Prevention

Prevention is better than cure! Chest muscle pain can be prevented by the following methods.
  • Change in lifestyle and eating habits. Prefer eating healthy foods and avoid junk and fast food that increases the cholesterol level, block the blood flow and further contribute to chest pain.
  • Reducing and maintaining weight if you are suffering from obesity.
  • Perform regular exercises, but go slow on chest exercises if you think you are prone towards chest muscle pain.
  • Stay away from smoking and other bad habits.
  • Do meditation to relieve stress and tension. Change your mental perspective by including spirituality in your life.
