Charlotte North Carolina - Job Outlook - Making it on the List of Best Places
Charlotte North Carolina is a huge center for business, and professionals commute from far and wide to take advantage of the services the city provides.

The economy of Charlotte NC is spread very evenly over the major sectors. Charlotte residents are employed in education, health and social services, and equally employed in finance, insurance and real estate, with the smallest percent of residents employed in business, professional and scientific pursuits. Finally, about twenty percent of the population is split between retail and manufacturing.

Certainly one of my pics for the Best Places to retire or relocate, Charlotte North Carolina was ranked number 4 in Business 2.0 Magazine’s list of the top ten hottest job markets. With the addition of Wachovia’s headquarters, its little wonder, as Charlotte is the second largest banking center in the country.

Considering Charlotte’s population has doubled since 1980, there is a huge demand for housing and services for all these new residents, and that affects employees in all fields. Many companies have relocated to Charlotte to help fill the demands of this influx of people.

Some of the most recent large business ventures include DHL opening the largest US on-airport service center facility at Charlotte Douglass International; Hewitt Associates, a human resources support and consulting services firm, employing 900 people; and US Airways who recently completed a $1.5 billion merger with American West Holdings Corp has its base in Charlotte, employing more than 5,000 people.

There is no doubt about it! Charlotte North Carolina is growing by leaps and bounds. It’s easy to see why Charlotte is so popular, and such a great place to do business and makes it on the list of one of the Best Places to retire or relocate in North Carolina.
