Charlie Sheen Apologizes

Actor Charlie Sheen has apologized for a nasty voicemail he left for his ex-wife Denise Richards over three years ago.

The voicemails were from April 2005 and were documented for the couples divorce proceedings, but they just recently were made public reportedly by Richards. In the voicemails, Sheen drops the "F" word a lot and refers to Richards as some not so nice words including the "N" word. Sheen released a statement Wednesday that was released by his publicist, "I deeply apologize by my choice of words to all I have obviously offended, especially to Tony Todd, an African-American who was a best man at my first two weddings. And for the record, my children did not show up today for a custodial visit without explanation. So three and one-half years later, the reasons that caused the anger and frustration displayed on that voicemail continue to be manifested on a daily basis."

The couple has been embroiled in a bitter custody battle since splitting in March 2006. And now Richards says the "gloves are off." She said in a recent interview, "When I keep my mouth shut, [Charlie] continues to fuel [the feud] anyway, so I’m not gonna sit back anymore." Sheen and Richards met on the set of Good Advice in 2000. They were engaged in January 2002 and married that June. Their daughter Sam was born in 2004 and the couple separated abruptly in March 2005 when Richards was six months pregnant with their daughter Lola. The couple’s divorce was finalized in November 2006 and they have been engaged in this custody battle ever since.

Sheen, 42, recently married for the third time. He and Brooke Mueller tied the knot on May 30, 2008 in an intimate ceremony at a private home in Beverly Hills. Mueller, 30, is a real estate agent and former actress. Sheen stars on the hit show Two and a Half Men. Richards can be seen in her own reality show Denise Richards: It’s Complicated on the E! channel.
