Chapter 7
Chapter 7!!! :D COMMENT PLEASE!!!!! Wesley's P.O.V.
"Wesley"
I got quickly spun around by a rough brown gloved hand. My eyes went wide as I was wrenched the other way. When I looked, I knew immediately who it is. The familiar brown deer leathered jacket and pants, with dark brown hunting boots, gloves, and a rifle strap around the front of his chest, with the rifle slanted at the base of his back. Michael Skylar, my father.
"Oh good Lord Father... You scared the crap out of me!" I said, holding my right hand to where my heart was, acting dramatic. There was a tearing sound from behind me, and we both looked to see that the portal in the tree was just about closed. Great. There goes my chance of finding Addison. FANTASTIC!!
"Well, I apologize for the inconvenience about the portal. Rumor has it in the Light World that the Chosen One has been abducted by a demon, is it not?" My father questioned me. He looked very young, but I guess that's because all Warriors who have been Blessed get granted the privilege of being immortal. He was one of those dads that are the super caring and good natured dads. The kind of man who respects everyone; nothing more, nothing less. He has a soft face, with blonde hair, and laughing dark blue eyes, almond shaped. He seems to take after my brother more than me, like his height, for instance. I was about.... 4 inches taller than him. He was 5"8, two inches taller than my brother, Timmothy.
"Oh. Yes Father .I was actually headed into the Portal to find her... but now my chances of finding her are extremely slim..." I said, beginning to sulk. I felt horrible... She could be getting tortured or something... And I was beginning to really like her... Something about her... I feel connected to her, somehow. Defiantly something I've never felt before.
"Well, I don't think you should worry about finding her, at the moment. Here." He said, snapping his fingers. A rolled up newspaper appeared in his ready-opened hands. I could tell by the wrinkle-less paper and pearl white look of it that it was from the Light World. He handed it to me and I took it without a second thought, and opened the front page to see in big words 'BREAKING NEWS' I just had to read the first sentence to for me to drop the paper and start running. I knew where she was, and I'm sure it's already too late, for I think she already met my brother. My father doesn't know it. Addy doesn't know it. No one knows it. Timmothy Skylar is a big part of the Dark Forces.
I haven't been able to do anything about it because I haven't seen my brother in over 3 years. If Addy gets too involved with him; and I pray she doesn't, she could be put into mortal danger. The Dark Forces is a large group of evil beings, which includes demons and Warriors, but not Blessed, like my Father. They seem to... hide. My brother is like the Assistant in Command of the whole operation. The light World folk have forgotten about them because the Dark Forces haven't attacked the people in the Light World for over 50 years. There hasn't been as many demon sightings as there has been in the last 50 or so years either. That means that something very bad is beginning. All for the Powers that Addy beholds. Powers she hasn't found out about yet. Powers they are searching for. Once they have her Powers, they will destroy her. I had to get to my brother as soon as I can.
I looked behind me to see if my Father was following me, but he was nowhere to be seen. He must have teleported back to the entrance of the Light World. I ran and ran until I got to the base of a huge lake. Am I tired? Actually, no. See, though I am not a Warrior, I have the oxygen capacity and speed 5 times stronger and faster than the average human. I ran about 6 or 7 miles from the school, and I was just the faintest tired. There was a sign on the bank of the lake that said, "Silver Lake: Sacred lake of California. Do not swim!"
I chuckled as I read the last part. I had two options for entering the World. There is a cave at the very bottom of the lake; 56 feet, and the cave transports you to the local Woods there; the same Woods where Addy was taken to. Or... I could make a Portal out of my Magic I have, but that would waste way too much of time and my own energy and strength. I need a cool dip anyway, since I was covered in blood from the little battle back with the demons by the bus. I took my red jacket off and threw it in a corner a few feet away. I only had my white muscle shirt on. I needed less weight for when I get in the water anyway.
I jumped into the water and immediately started swimming to the bottom. Just because I have a larger lung capacity doesn't mean I can hold my breath forever. And me not being a very fast swimmer doesn't help either, so I had to hurry. I was in the water for about 25 minutes before I started to feel a very small nagging pain. I ignored it because under water was just so gorgeous. It wasn't the normal lake that is all murky and nasty. It was so blue and clear! There were so many different types of plant life and fish of a wide variety of reds, blues, yellows, and whites. I finally reached the cave at 32 minutes in. Okay, now I could feel the air coming out fully. I started to swim faster as I got within 18 feet inside the cave.
I should be getting close to the end by now. Suddenly, I noticed the pattern of the cave moving upward some. I swam along the wall, until I noticed that there was a pitch of sunlight, and water waving at the top of a hole. I made it. I finally popped my head above the water, noticing that I was in the river within the Woods. I swam to the bank and was about to pull myself up but I was stopped by footsteps stopped in front of me.
