Chapter 4
"Wesley"
I could NOT believe I just witnessed a Beast demon kidnap our Chosen One, and for who I was responsible for. I then went into panic mode. I got my phone out and immediately sent Xavier and Troy a text.
"We have a SERIOUS problem now, and I could really use ur help, fast." and sent it. I didn't know what to expect for their reply.
Xavier replied first, with Troy's text following shortly after. They ended up saying almost exactly the same thing, which I was surprised about.
"What kind of problem? Wait, did Addison reject your offering to go out with you? lol!! Ok Troy nd I will be out there shortly." I rolled my eyes at their texts. I wasn't going to ask her out. I barely know her, though I feel like I've know her for years. Oh well. No time for drama right now. I have a girl to save. Ha, how cliche that sounds. I jogged to the entrance of the large school, where Xavier and Troy were standing. Xavier was several inches shorter than Troy, and twice as dark.
Troy was about 5"8, close to my height. His hair adds of about a half an inch, so he's cheating a little. Out of the three of us, only Troy has an actual girlfriend. Her name is Nataliea, and they've been together for over a year. Sometimes, when I ask Troy how long they've been together, I think he's lying about how long, but nope. A year and a half is true. I was really and truly surprised. Xavier didn't seem to mind not having a girlfriend, and if he did, he didn't show it. I, on the other hand, well, let's just say, I've been through trial and error many time. I've been through four girls, and well, hasn't ended so well.
"Okay, we have a MAJOR problem. Addison's been kidnapped by a Beast demon!" I said, as I explained everything that happened. Both Xavier and Troy had shocked expressions on their face.
"Well, so much for being responsible for her. Way to go Airhead." said Troy. I slapped him in the back of the head and walked down the steps to the sidewalk Xavier and Troy following. Something was different. The school bus was still here. Normally, it would go down the 91 from here to West Sea Elementary, but it was still here. The air smelled like blood. My Switch-sword began to vibrate as I walked closer to the bus. Yup, definitely blood, but it sunk of demons.
"Wesley, I have a strange feeling there are demons around here. My Switch-sword is vibrating, fast." Xavier said, as he became stiff.
"Yeah, same here. Wesley, what's going on?" Troy asked, as he backed away from the bus with Xavier.
I pulled my Switch-sword out, as it was vibrating heavily in my hand as I got near the bus entryway. The window was shattered, large pieces of glass on the pavement. I bent over to pick one of them up, one covered in a black sticky fluid like oil slick. Human blood wasn't black. While I got up, I pressed the side of my thumb on the handle of the blade, and it lengthened about a foot and a half or so, and it began to glow. I turned around to tell Xavier and Troy to surround the bus, but they were out of sight; completely. I'll have to go after them two later.
I began to step into the shattered bus window, when I heard a loud roar, about a thousand times louder than a lions'. I ran to the back of the bus, and two Liardeo demons had Troy and Xavier backed up against the bus. The monsters were slick black, their bodies covered in a thick black liquid. They had oval heads and spider-like eye slits. Their teeth were like large thick needles, with more than a hundred each on top and bottom. One of the Liardeo demons had his eyes on Xavier, and I was too far from them both, but I still had to try.
I managed to jump on the top of the bus to make enough noise for the demons to notice, and I did a flip, with the point of the sword facing outward from me, and when I landed behind the demon which was in front of Troy, and heard a plop when the demon's head fell onto the gravel. Xavier was battling his demon, and successfully dealt with it.
"Gosh, where the hell did all these demons come from?" Xavier asked, panting and out of breath. We all walked to the foot of the stairs in front of the school, ad sat down, dumbfounded.
"So, now what do we do? The Chosen One's gone, and we don't know where she is... so we're stuck." Xavier said, smudging some Demon Blood off the bottom of his shoe on the white concrete sidewalk. Thank God only Addy had the Sight, that we know of. Because if they did, we would be in SO much trouble. The bus lady... well... the demons took care of her, sadly. The bus is destroyed, with blood smeared almost every square inch of the bus. It was a stomach-churning sight, so thank God humans can't see them. Well, it was about 12:30 by then, and lunch was just starting. Xavier and Troy had to get back to class, so that ment I ditched for the day. Oh well. Now, all I need to do is locate to where the demon took Addy. I said bye to the guys and retraced my steps. I followed the trail of blood from poor Addy's arm, leading back to the large base of the Oak. Damn it.... Nothing. But where did the demon come from originally?
I walked slowly to the tree where Addison first saw the demon hiding behind. I faced the tree in front of me, and went around it clock wise. There had to be a portal some- My thoughts were answered right as a turned to the back of the trunk. Facing the back of the tree, there was a... portal. Well, what's left of a portal. It was pretty big in size, and I could easily fit into it, but I was afraid of where it would lead to. I just peered into the hole, my head just barely in it, and my eyes wondered around everywhere. It was.... beautiful. But, how's that possible? Demons don't live in the Light World. The Light World is a special place for Demonseekers. It's probably the only place where our kind could be safe.
There was miles upon limes of greenery. Hills, trees, meadows, everywhere. There were two story houses and little towns around the place too. Everything was led by dirt roads made by wagons, horses, etcetera. It was a bird's-eye view. I took my head out of the portal, and the image suddenly changed. I forgot! You see an image in the portal from the last place you've been... But, when I first encountered the portal, the Light World was already visible from the portal. How strange.
The wind started to blow softly, but a bone chilling wind. Goose bumps arose everywhere on my body. The leaves from an Oak crunched softly, but I thought it was just the wind. The grass rustles behind me, and the crunching got louder. I felt someone was behind me... glaring at my back, but I ignored it. I continued to look at the portal change images from the Light World to a dark nightmare, with lava pits, large black rocks, and the ground with moving ants.... No. Not ants. Demons. Everywhere. It was... the Demon Lair. The one place where.... demons take.... their captives.... for torturing.... Oh my gosh! I was just about to jump into the portal when the final crunch of leaves made me flinch, and someone grabbed my shoulder and wrenched me around to face him or her. From there, I didn't know what to expect. Abnormality was uncommon to me nowadays.
