Chapter 3. - The Promises- Nick
A girl named Rain Wulche, is having trouble controlling her powers and blocking the threats of enemies.. Will she survive? A scream will interrupt her training...
"Is there something you don’t understand, Rain?" I shouted, "Can’t you see that this is too dangerous?"
She shook her head and kept walking. I heard a soft cry and she stood still again for a split second. "You don’t understand, Nick. This has been my dream, to final be set free." She sounded so sure of herself and it made me break.
"You are not going to let them finally get you, Do you hear me?!" I shot after her and she gasped when she landed on the hard cold ground. She let her head fall back against he ground and she closed her eyes while I pinned her gracefully on the ground.
"I don’t mind staying her all my life if it means you not getting killed." I stammered.
"They promised I would be set free from the pain they caused me if I came to them.. Please Nick…?" Her eyes flooded with tears. I couldn’t help but feel a lump for in my throat, she really, really did want this. I couldn’t live without her… If I let her go… Let her get what she wants… No! I have to keep her safe. I will do anything to keep her safe for as long as I live or die trying.
"Who are they? Rain… You must tell me or no good will come about this!" My voice was choked, I knew she could break away from me anytime she tried but I still kept her down, she didn’t try to break away. I wrapped my arms around her waist and whispered into her ear. "We can fix this Rain…. Please... Just give me one more chance… "Struggling to say the last words… "I … I … love you, don’t leave me..." She froze there under me and I thought that she would run away.
"I…," She couldn’t grab hold of the moment and stuttered, "They’re waiting for me in Quebec… They promised me no more pain, They said that they wou—"Her last words were cut off in a sudden shriek of pain.
Her terrors where coming back. I held her down with all my might trying to sooth her, her paining screams came breathless and I grasped her wrists and sat on top of her, Her eyes watered and tears came streaming down her face and her eyes where shut. I felt so mad I could kill someone. Who the f*ck was doing this to her? I need the answers now!
But the only person who could help me was Rain... She was in pain... I have to wait till it goes away. Damn that motherf*cker for doing this to my love!
In a little while she finally settled down, gasping, breathlessly and shaking her head trying to calm the rest of the now soft screams out of her head. I sat in with her head on my lap and I caressed her face softly,
"Will you leave me?.... Or will you stay and live with me forever?"
