Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are braces that have non-metal brackets which are made of ceramic. Read on to know their reviews, what these braces exactly are and how much they cost...

What are Ceramic Braces?
Clear ceramic braces are basically dental braces where the brackets that are placed on the teeth, which secures the wire passing through them, are made of ceramic rather than metal. As they are made of ceramic, they are tooth colored and so, easily merge with the teeth and get camouflaged and are not easily visible. These are great options when it comes to braces for adults, as they are not very easily visible, so can save people from the embarrassment of being called a 'metal mouth'.
Reviews
Although the reviews of these braces have been good, they are not nearly as good as the invisalign review. Although these braces are often compared to invisible braces, or invisalign, due to the metal wire passing through the brackets, they are easily visible up close. Furthermore, unlike invisalign, these are fixed appliances and so, maintaining dental care becomes a bit difficult with these braces. However, not all cases that require orthodontic treatment are suited for invisalign treatment, like people that have a severe overjet or overbite may not be able to avail treatment with invisalign. In such cases, ceramic braces are the closest that you can get to an aesthetic treatment option for cases of severe malocclusion or crowding teeth.
Cost
Needless to say, the cost of these aesthetic braces is more than that of your conventional metal braces. In fact, this is one of the places where braces that have ceramic brackets lose out to ones that have metal brackets in the forever ongoing ceramic braces vs metal braces debate. The ceramic braces cost could go up to anywhere between USD 7000 to USD 8000. As mentioned earlier, this is more than the average cost of braces, because of the ceramic brackets, which cost more than metal brackets.
This was all about ceramic braces, what the various reviews say about them and how much they could set you back by. You need to ask your orthodontist regarding what options you have in ceramic braces and how to take care of them. You need to be extra careful when you have these braces because, unlike metal, they are not very durable and may even get abraded if you brush them very vigorously. Thus, care of dental braces is extremely important when you have ceramic ones. Also, if you drink too much of coffee and colored drinks, there are high chances that you may end up staining your ceramic braces, in which case, they may look worse than metal braces! So, you need to sit down with your orthodontist and have a chat about whether your case is suitable for ceramic braces or not.
