Cellular Window Blinds

The next time you think of window coverings for your house, give a thought to cellular window blinds. These window shades are stylish and can be a great addition to your home, adding to the warmth and character of the interior.
Cellular Window Blinds
Cellular window blinds or shades are a favorite among consumers as, unlike other wood blinds, they provide better light control which lets in only the required amount of light. They have a filtering effect on light; so you can choose from filling your rooms with light, to sheer blackout or dim lighting.

Cellular window blinds come in a honeycomb cellular structure, with woven and non-woven fabrics constructed to form a cross-sectional honeycomb shape. This structure improves energy efficiency, and ensures privacy. These blinds are available in an array of fabrics, with top-down and bottom-up options, a cordless feature, and a remote-control feature as well. Here is a list of cellular fabrics and the available colors you can select from:

3/4" Cordless Double Cell Fabric: This cellular fabric is available in a range of colors, like white, taupe, tan, etc.
3/4" Single Cell Fabric: The range of colors includes shell white, creamy white, alabaster, taupe, cottonwood, rattan, brandy, olive, navy, deep gray, etc.
3/4" Single Cell Blackout Fabric: The colors available with this type are mist, wood tone, thyme, etc.
1/2" Single Cell Fabric: The colors range from shell white to creamy white, alabaster, beige, cottonwood, taupe, rattan, brandy, etc.
3/8'' Double Cell Fabric: Colors include taupe, pearl, almond, pecan, among others.

As mentioned above, the construction of the shade allows it to act as a filter to the light, leaving the room illuminated with a mild and pleasant glow. The honeycomb structure also acts as an insulator and limits the flow of incoming and outgoing air by trapping them in the middle, thus keeping the room at a steady temperature. Such cellular shades help maintain room temperature, by keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter. With larger cell size, the insulation feature gets better.

Unlike non-cellular blinds, the blackout cellular fabric ensures complete privacy in your bedroom, nursery, and projector room. Normal window blinds have small openings between their slats, which is not the case with cellular window blinds. They have been designed in such a way that there is no room for any 'sneak-peek'. They can also be utilized in laboratories to carry out certain experiments which require pitch-black darkness. With small babies at home, it is difficult to lull them to sleep during the day, especially in the afternoon. The solution lies in covering their windows with these cellular blinds, as they not only create complete blackout but also reduce noise.

The top-down feature is another factor which makes cellular shades better than the normal ones. You can lower the shade so that the light can come in, while still maintaining your privacy. And, of course, there's the bottom-up feature to raise the blind from the bottom. The cordless feature is another option for extra safety. This technique does not require a lift cord, just a touch of the finger is enough to raise or lower the blind. For windows that are hard to reach, you can add a remote-controlled sensor on each shade. With the help of the remote, you can control the shades from a distance of 20 to 30 feet, and raise or lower them as you require.

Cellular window blinds are a great buy for your house. They are less vulnerable to color fading, and are fire-resistant. Cleaning the cellular shades does not take much time, regular vacuuming makes them look fresh and clean. Thus, they not only save your energy, but also your time!
