I sat out by the pond trying to calm my angered self. I clutched the arms rests of the bench tightly in my hands breathing hard and staring into the water.
"That was awesome." Nyx's gorgeous sister Donella said smiling at me.
I gave a small smile back. "Thanks. What happened back there was easy. The hard part is calming down." I chuckled.
"Here," she said handing me a glass of liquid ambrosia, the drink of the gods. I brought it to my lips and as soon as it slid down my throat it warmed me from the inside out. It was sweet and delicious.
"Mmm..thank you SO much." Throwing away the empty plastic cup in a waste basket.
"No problem. You deserve it after showing that princess what she deserved." She said sitting next to me on the bench. I chuckled. "From the moment I walked into that dining room she's been giving me nothing but pure death glares. I think even SHE could beat my dad in a glare competition." I laughed and smiled big at her.
"I love your eyes!" I said noticing them for the first time. One was crimson like her brother and sisters but the other was a hazel color.
She chuckled, "Ya..guess my mom's genes took over one of my eyes." She said smiling. "Yours are GORGEOUS. My brother Aderick thinks so too." She said. A blush crossed my cheeks.
"What did he say?" I said turning to Donella
She smiled knowingly. "He couldn't stop talking bout 'that sea chick from dinner'." She said taking my hands in hers like we were middle schoolers about to gossip. "He said your eyes were gorgeous. And they really are, they pop." She giggled. "He called you gorgeous to and he kept ranting on how he was surprised Amora was the popular one and not you."
I felt a smile light up my face. "I really do think that." A deep voice said from behind us. We turned to see Aderick grinning and walking towards us. I looked at Donella with wide eyes.
"Um..I gotta...pee...ill talk to you later Nerrita." Donella said to me and sped off towards the house. I looked after her with wide eyes.
"That was really cool what you did inside." Aderick said. I turned around as he sat where Donella had been only moments ago.
"Oh..thanks." I said looking down.
"Your name is Nerrita..right?" He asked. I nodded. "That's pretty." I glanced up and his gorgeous face was lit up by a grin.
"HIIII ADERICK!" Amora screamed as she trotted up to us. Her right eye was swollen shut.
"Uh..hi.." He said stifling a laugh at her eye. Anger flashed across her face.
"Wanna take a walk with me?" She asked holding out a perfectly manicured hand out to him. He looked at it like it was going to bite him.
"No..I'm talking to Nerrita." He said turning back to me.
"Did you see what she did to me?" She whined pointing to her eye.
Aderick turned to me with a look of anger on his face. "YOU! Did that to her??" He asked.
"Um ya..You knew that-"
He turned to Amora. " I had no idea she did that to you.." He said to her. She gave me a smirk and him a sweet smile. "I'll be sure to thank her." He said turning to me. I burst out laughing at Amora's look of pure hatred. Aderick winked at me and I grinned back.
Amora stamped her foot on the ground which broke the heel off her shoes. Aderick and I burst into a new fit of laughter making Amora scream and stamp back to the house with one heel-less shoe.
"You're not like the other girls here are you?" He said chuckling a little.
"If that was a polite way of calling me weird..yes." I said smiling. I concentrated on the pond and absentmindedly started moving my pointer fingers in circles, causing a small stream of water to float out of the pond and right in front of my face and move in whatever way my finger moved.
"Woah.." Aderick whispered watching me. I chuckled and moved my fingers to the blob of water was in front of him. I looked into it and laughed, "Look," He said and pointed at the water. I looked into it and realized a small fish was in it. I laughed and gently placed the water (and the unharmed fish) back in the pond.
"Show me something you can do." I whispered excitedly.
He looked around to see if anyone was watching then made a fist and shook it once really fast and magically the most reddest, most beautiful, flawless rose appeared in his hand. My eyes got wide and i stared at the perfect flower in his palm. "Wow" I whispered softly and took the floor from out between his thumb and pointer finger so I could examine its perfect looks. I rolled its stem between my fingers slowly examining the side of its petals. Each petal was perfectly rounded, flawless, and a deep beautiful red. Suddenly Aderick whispered something in Greek under his breath and the petals burst from the stem and turned into little red butterfly's that came close to my face and kissed it. I gasped excitedly and giggled at the tickling kisses.
"Your power is SO much cooler." I smiled.
He chuckled and the butterflies flew off into the air. The curfew bell rang and my heart sank. Time for everyone to get into their dorms.
"Goodnight.." Aderick whispered, smiled and walked gracefully towards the Hade's dorms. My heart was still racing.
