The Nyad who I've come to know as Destan's legs suddenly fused together and slick, beautiful blue scales covered his new fin, propelling him through the water. Hmm..I was supposed to have all the powers of a Nyad and more..could I do that? I filled my lungs with water and breathed normally, then focused all of my energy on my legs. I felt a tingly sensation and I gasped as my legs gracefully formed together and little blue and green scales popped up. My fin was powerful and I giggled happily as I swam through the waters at incredible speeds.
"All hail the princess!" Voices shouted as I swam through the underwater streets of the kingdom. It was beautiful. Pearl was used to pave the streets and roads. All the buildings shimmered in the water and fish swam about.

"Come. My family is this way." He said leading me to a castle on an underwater mountain. We entered and I followed him up a tall spiraling staircase. "My sister needs you. She is the only one who can take the crown after me but she is dying. An assassin tried to killer her. Her heart was pierced with an arrow. If she dies, then our people must go and join another kingdom with a full blood leader, and we love it here. Please. Help her?" I gave him a single nod and he opened to creme colored doors to a large room. The sand colored walls were in crested with beautiful shimmering sea glass and seashells. In the middle of the room was a bed surrounded by lots of tired looking Nyads. In the bed, was a pale, blond girl. Her eyes were closed and her breathing was low and shallow. I hurried over to her and pulled the covers gently off her.

"What are you doing?!" A woman, who I'm guessing from the crown was the former queen, asked pulling me away from her daughter. I turned to her startled and everyone gasped. "Oh..I'm..I'm so sorry my princess!"
I just gave her a gentle understanding smile and nodded. Softly and carefully I rested my hands on the sides of the girls sweat covered face. I found the internal bleeding and stopped it quickly. I found where the pain was and stopped his, and quickly told her brain it was time for this girl to wake. When I opened my eyes, the girls two big green eyes stared back into mine.
"Thank the Gods! Thank you my Princess. You are truly great!" All the people cried and hugged the girl. I stepped back and watched as Destan hurried to his sisters bed side with everyone else. I just smiled to myself and swam out of the palace. I gazed at the people who were amazed to see me in their small town as I directed myself to the edge of the pond I had entered in. Just as i was about to pull myself out of the water I heard someone behind me. I turned to see another handsome Nyad come up to me. His dark curly hair was a dramatic contrast to his milky skin.

"For the most beautiful girl, in the world." He said holding out a beautiful white flower to me. "May Aphrodite herself envy you." He smiled. I kissed his cheek and he swam off.
"He was watching you the whole time you were in the palace." Destan's voice startled me. I whirled around to face him. "He is our butler."
"Shouldn't you be with your sister?"
"I must repay her savior."
"I don't need any payment." I smiled softly at him.
"But I WANT to repay you." He said with a coy smile swimming close. His beauty was evident. My father created Nyads as a monument to Aphrodite, making all of them as painfully beautiful as Gods. He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist and brought me close. All I could do was look at him. His eyes glanced down to my lips and slowly he leaned in and pressed his soft mouth to mine. The water moved my dark hair around us like a curtain and he ran his gentle fingers through its thick locks. His hand ended at the back of my head pulling me harder to his lips. Just as I felt myself melting against him, two hands came into the water and grabbed my shoulder, pulling me away from my amazing kiss and hoisting me, and my fin on to land.

I sat on the sandy beach spitting out water. "What the hell!?" I complained.
"You. Kissed. It?" Apollo said, venom in his voice.
"He kissed me out of gratitude. Jeez!"
"Dude, that was harsh." Aderick said helping me to my feet. "You ok huh?" he asked in a lowered voice, smiling at me. I nodded and dusted off my butt. I looked over at the pond and Destan jumped out, his legs back, a pair of dark tight pants appearing in their place.
"What is your problem?" He said getting right into Apollo's face.
"My problem is you kissing MY girl."
"I don't see your name on her. But the way you keep her like your prisoner, I can see why you think she's yours."
"Stay in your place Nyad!" Apollo growled.

"Woah woah! Guys! Chill!" I said walking in between them. "Apollo, I am NOT yours." I said looking in his eyes.
He was silent, his beautiful sun-rise like eyes filled to the brim with hurt. "I took you into my sky...we put out stars together..I kept you warm...I'm TRYING to keep you safe..And that means nothing to you? I LOVED YOU NERRITA...but I can see you don't care." And with that he ran off to his Pegasus waiting for him at the edge of the clearing, hopped on, and flew away. Até stood there looking at the sky with anger.
"He DID treat you bad Nerrita." She whispered comfortingly.
"No..he was trying to show he cared about me.." I whispered. "And I messed it up." I wiped a single tear off my cheek, rung out my wet hair, then went to gather my stuff from my tent. "I'm glad your sister is ok. I must prepare to leave now though." I called back to Destand who stood by the edge of his watery kingdom.
