Known for its steaks, lamb fries and its rich cowboy tradition, Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, Oklahoma City has been offering the cowboy experience since 1910. Though the ownership changed over a roll of the dice, there’s nothing unpredictable here. The staff employed here has been around for a long time and this ensures that the quality and distinctive taste of the steaks here are maintained. Located in the Oklahoma Stockyards neighborhood in Oklahoma City, it gives you a feel of the original cowboy who still seems to roam about in Oklahoma. The Cattlemen’s Steakhouse is where you’ll find plenty of modern cowboys delighting in the Cattlemen’s experience.
A wide range of steaks, appetizers, sandwiches, salads, entrees and desserts are here to welcome you. The starters include the delicious lamb fries, while the ‘comfort food’ menu includes coconut cream pie, mashed potatoes, onion rings, and buttered rolls among other delicacies. While side orders include French fries, onion rings and baked potatoes, the chief attraction is obviously the steaks. There is a whole range of steaks on the menu list. Cattlemen’s own butcher shop takes care of the preparation, hand-cutting the beef and searing it over a charcoal flame according to the specification of the customer.
The most ‘prestigious’ of the steak choices has to be the Presidential Choice T-Bone Steak, chosen by President Bush when he dined in OKC. This large steak is a combination of the Strip Sirloin and the Filet. The other steaks include the Pepper Steak, Dinner Steak, Rib Eye Steak, Ham Steak, Cattlemen’s Chicken Fried Steak, Chopped Sirloin, Filet Mignon, and the Top Club. What’s more, the steaks come with homemade rolls, baked potato and Cattlemen’s Salad.
