Cats, with their unique personalities, have inspired many writers and great thinkers. Such an example would be, for instance, that of Lewis Carroll, the author of "Alice in Wonderland", where the magical universe of a child does not lack the sweet presence of cats.

What makes them so special? Some say they possess the same mysterious nature women are endowed with, and because of that they are considered such charming and interesting creatures. Others add that cats have a wild spirit that cannot be tamed by humans, and we are all fascinated by things that are beyond our reach and influence.

There are so many witty quotes about cats, that one may wonder how do these furry creatures get so much attention. Naturally, they sometimes may act in a way that may be annoying to humans, make a lot of noise and do plenty of scratching and biting, but usually they are either scared, or mistreated, or both when they adopt this behavior. When they are happy and pleased, meaning when they are themselves, since cats are notorious for their knowledge of how to fully enjoy every moment of their existence, they show it by purring and acting sweet. This can only but have a miraculously calming and soothing effect on the human spirit. For this reason they deserve at least our attention.
