Catch The Wind

A haunting love poem, take it as you will.
Dark as night, close as a kiss,
I feel her breath upon my face,
Sweet scented air embraces me,
I feel her presence again
Within my ghostly memories.

Reminiscent vapours float
Within the shadows of my heart,
Softly recollecting the past,
Of a happiness long dead
And a love not meant to last.

She shuffles through my mortal soul
To leave my mind numb with cold,
Frozen in a thought of yore,
A spirit I perceived.
A sense of nevermore.

I hear her whisper on the breeze,
Her voice sounding low and sweet.
The softest sigh arouses me,
Was it mine or was it hers?
It fills my eyes with tears.

My heart beats hard against my breast,
I quiver so, with nervousness,
A haunting thought of tenderness
Borne on the wind,
It calls for my attest.

I reach out to touch with my hand
That which I cannot find,
That which is no longer around,
It's too far gone to retrieve,
I cannot catch the wind.
