Castaway - Chapter 6

A simple gesture that made my butterflies appear.
He looked amazing tonight. His body was covered by black skinny jeans, a white button down shirt that was rolled up to his elbows and a thin black tie hung around his neck. Checkered vans to go along.
I on the other hand ditched my dark clothing for once. I wore a watercolor cocktail dress with comfortable white flats. A casual black blazer over my shoulders. I checked my reflection nervously on a nearby mirror. I let out a breath that I hadn't noticed I held. My make up was still intact and there wasn't a hair out of place.
"Don't worry Essence. You look great,"
"Thanks." I hummed along to the songs we had rehearsed. It would be embarrassing if I forgot the lyrics on stage. I would die of mortification. I was too nervous to recognize the familiar faces around the venue. To nervous to realize everybody stared at me disgustingly.
We found Locke and Natalie practicing behind the curtains. Locke wore something similar to Tanner's clothing. Except for the skinny jeans though. Nat wore the opposite of my clothing. She had on a black cocktail dress and black ballet flats. The eyes made her blue eyes stand out more.
Honestly, it was rather hard to believe these two are twenty years old.
"You guys ready?"
We all nodded to Locke's question, though we were all nervous. Besides our regular shows at the cafe, this is our first time performing somewhere else.
Out of the blue, a booming voice announced for The Scenery.
Tanner was opening up, flashing us a nervous smile he hit the stage. Wild shrieks from girls erupted almost immediately. I did mention he was gorgeous, right? The music started and Tanner sang along to Face Down.
----
Tanner came back smiling hugely. Everybody loved him! After singing Face Down, Like I Mean It and swoon worthy Fall For You it was my turn. The cheers toned down but the whistles grew louder.
My nervousness died down as I lost myself with the music. I finished up All Around Me and I Just Wanna Run.
Finally it was time for the last two songs. Just like at the cafe Tanner and I sat on stools in the middle of the stage as Locke and Natalie strummed softly to Two Is Better Than One in the background.
Also like at the cafe Tanner sang directly to me.
---
When we were done performing we all hit the dancefloor. It was admittable that it was hard dancing with these clothes on. I lost my patience and changed into my spare clothes.
Exchanging my dress and flats for ripped jeans shorts that reached up to the middle of my thigh, an off the shoulder top that had vampire teeth and in bold red letter stated "Bite Me." My flats were replaces were with my heavenly, reliable red convers. Re-fixing my hair I decided I was ready to go.
When I came out of the restroom I saw Hailey trying to steal my dance partner. She ran her hands up and down Tanner's chest. Wait, HAILEY? That was when it dawne on me. How could I be so stupid? Yet ignorant? Ethan SUMMERS, Sean SUMMERS. Looking at it now they both had the same confidence aura around them and the trademark eyes. How could I not notice the resemblance?
Ignoring the facts for a second, I focused on Hailey. Running her HAND on TANNER'S CHEST.
Adrenaline coursed throughout my veins, I had enough confidence to stalk over there. Smirking wickedly, I confidently walked over to them. I took hold of tanner's tie and dragged him towards me, away from Hailey. His eyes widened over my outfit, as did Hailey's. The look on her face was priceless.
I draped my arms around his neck and his went around my waist. We swayed to the beat of Ke$ha's song, We R Who We R. Hailey angrily glared at me, stomping off dramatically. She cursed loudly as she left. Luckily the music blocked the words out. I laughed, then turned my attention back to Tanner.
To my surprise, Ethan stood a coupe feet behind us. He stared at us incredulously. Noticing he had been caught his attention was returned to the petite brunette that was grinding on him.
I rolled my eyes at the scene and then grinned at Tanner. He grinned back at me. We stared deeply into each others eyes. Losing ourselves in the process.
