Carnival Game Ideas
Games form the most exciting part of a fun-filled carnival. Here are some simple yet exciting carnival game ideas, which will no doubt make your carnival full of fun.
Can Knockdown
One of the simplest games which can be played at a carnival is the can knockdown, wherein the player has to knock down a pile or a pyramid of cans, by throwing a ball from a considerable distance. You can make a pyramid of 6 to 10 empty cans and give each player a tennis ball or a ball made from cloth, to knock the structure down. Each player will get three chances to knock all the cans down. The person who either knocks down all the cans or knocks the most number of cans, is declared the winner and receives the goodies.
Board Racing With a Dice
In this game, you prepare a race track with 6 lanes, using wood or cardboard. You can use marking pen to draw the lanes. Then divide each of the lanes into 8 to 12 equal parts. Six players can play this game at a time. Each player should be given one animal, which will represent the player in the race. After placing the animals in the lanes, the operator will throw the dice. The player whose lane number comes up, moves a step forward. In this way, the player who makes it to the finishing line first wins the race.
Archery
In archery, you can make a target out of plywood by drawing 5 concentric circles, i.e. five circles within each other. Color each circle with a different color. Use the suction tipped arrows from the archery set for children. Place the board at an appropriate distance, depending on the age group of children who would play the game. Each player gets three chances to hit the bull's eye. You can even set points for each circle, with the outermost circle having the lowest points and the circle at the center having the highest points. After three rounds, calculate the score of the player; the player with the most points will be declared the winner.
Bowling
Bowling can be one of the most exciting carnival game ideas for children. You don't necessarily have to use the sophisticated bowling alley for this game; in fact you can create one of your own, much simpler and easy to play. For this game, you can either use a bowling set for children or use empty two liter plastic bottles with a little sand in them for balance. Give each player three chances to roll a small-sized football in order to knock these bottles down. The player who knocks down the most number of bottles, wins!
Toss the Ring
This is one of the simplest, yet, most enjoyable carnival game. You will need some plastic bottles and cardboard pieces. Fill all the bottles with sand or water and arrange them on the floor. Then cut out rings from the cardboard; while doing this make sure that the holes in the center are large enough for the plastic bottles to go through. The player should stand at a considerable distance and try to ring the bottles, to win. As a variant, you can also arrange goodies on the floor instead of bottles. In such a case, the player who rings these goodies can take them as the prize.
You can make some variations in these games so that they suit the age group you are catering to. These games can be fun for kids and teenagers alike. You just have to raise or lower the difficulty levels according to the needs. By including all these carnival game ideas in your carnival parties, you can ensure that your children have a great time out there. Just make sure that you have enough goodies to give away.
