Careers That Pay Well

Here are some careers that pay well that you may not have considered until now. Go through them and decide if any of them are applicable for you.
Everyone is looking for careers that pay well, but not many people actually find that dream job that ends up fetching them large amounts of money, along with complete job satisfaction. There are many who feel that the more amount of money you earn, the unhappier you will be with your job. This is not entirely true, because if you can carve out a career in something that excites you, you will inadvertently reap the rewards sooner or later.

There are some interesting career avenues that pay well from which you can choose a seemingly unconventional job, and be assured of plentiful returns at the same time. Some of these highest paying jobs may not go down very well with people of a slightly orthodox mindset, so be warned that you will need to possess a large amount of willpower and commitment to enjoy the benefits of these creative careers that pay well.

Commissioned Salesman
This is perhaps the oldest and most well-known way of making more money as you do more work. Some people are very uncomfortable with the idea of working without a base salary, so this is a career choice that is made for someone who is confident in their ability to carry out more sales. The bottom line is that the more an individual can manage to sell, the greater will be his/her salary. There are some investment bankers, car salesmen and electronic store salesmen who actually manage to make more than $100,000 per year, and there are many diverse career opportunities in this field.

Crab Fisherman
Here's a job that requires one to sail to frigid and desolate areas for about 8 weeks a year, in the hunt for crabs. The reward here is that the job can fetch you around $50,000 for those 8 weeks if you have enough experience. This is one of the most dangerous jobs around though, but for someone looking to make some good money while getting a load of thrills, what could be better than this adventure.

Accountant
Though this job requires one to be sitting in one place for hours at a stretch, and just rambling through incoherent sheets of numbers and figures, it is a highly lucrative career choice. The best accountants can earn more than $200,000 per year, and the average industry salary hovers around the $40,000 per year mark. Not bad for a job that most people would term boring and mundane.

Sports Agent
If you have seen the movie Jerry McGuire, you will know what a sports agent does. His job revolves around making sure the sports personality attached to him plays to the best of his abilities, and gets the best contract and image endorsement rights around. If done correctly, this career can reap a lot of rewards in the form of commissions.

Proctologist
Now here's a job that pays extremely well (more than $200,000) a year, but the work in itself is highly disturbing. What you have to do is study an individual's rectum, or anus, for diseases and other severe problems. It goes without saying that you will hate your job (and will in turn be hated by the patients as well), but the rewards for this task should be enough to make you think twice. There are some other medical jobs as well, that pay handsomely but are slightly disturbing in nature.

Truck Drivers
Though this might seem like a dangerous and unstable job at first, there are many benefits that a good truck driver can enjoy. With a salary starting at around $40,000 per year, an experienced and safe truck driver can earn as much as $80,000 per year as well. No college degree or minimum educational qualifications are required, so this is a job that can suit some people very well.

Apart from these choices, you can pursue some art careers that pay good money too, like a painter, or a writer, or a graphic designer or a sculptor. Be warned though that these are career choices that depend on how talented you are, and there are people in this field who struggle a lot.

Choosing one amongst all these careers is not an easy task, as it requires you to discover that profession which interests you, in addition to being something that you are good at. Make a wise decision and you will reap the benefits in no time.
