Cannot Change Who I Am Today

When life just got too hard I did this…
I hurt myself today
To see if I was real
When the blood seeped out
Pain was all I could feel
The pain is the cure
That I am sure
Because lately nothing ever seems to endure.
There is nothing you can do or say
That will fix the person I am today.
Everyone I get close to
Seems to go away
I thought I would never feel this way.
