Cannot Be Love - Part 2 - Chapter 17

The rescue! All of Michelle's worries are coming to an end as well as the story!
The next chapter guys! Sorry for staying so long to post, but honestly, I have no real excuse, I was just being lazy.
Anyhow, just to inform you, this is the second last chapter and then I'd start a new story.

Also, I'd like to take this time to remind you that NONE of my stories or poems are based on reality. I LOVE to imagine and that is where all of my writing come from. If you have a problem with my stories, no one is forcing you to read them, try Valerie Jean Me, Maro Z or somebody else who writes on reality. If that is still not good enough, try watching Bold and the Beautiful, that has real-life drama. Don't waste your time reading my stories if you don't like it, you have many more choices.

Anyhow, before I get carried away...

Chapter 17

Michelle's P.O.V.

"Hi, sis," Rachael said as she tried to force a smile.

"You should be shame," I hissed. "After all you have done to me; you stand there and call me your sister."

"It wasn't me, I swear," she mumbled as I stepped a little closer to her. "I only did what mum told me to do."

"Yes, sure," I said. I noticed a bit of fear in her eyes and I took that to my advantage. "Rachael, we were all very close when we were younger and I admit I made one mistake, but I didn't deserve to be treated like this."

"I'm sorry," Rachael placed her hands in front of her protectively and stared at Terry lying on the floor. "I had nothing to do with it, I obeyed what he and my mum said."

"As much as I would like to believe you, I can't." I said to her. "Too bad I'm calling the police." I stepped closer to her until she was standing against the wall. I needed to make sure that she couldn't escape.

"Michelle, please?" she begged. "I'm your twin; you know I'd never do anything to hurt you on purpose."

"Rachael," I began. "You are your own woman; no one can make you do anything. I'm not going to hurt you, so have no fear. I wouldn't get myself in trouble for laying a hand on a pregnant woman, but just know that I'm not letting you go free."

"Thanks," she relaxed a bit. "But please, I'm not the guilty one here."

"Rachael," I took out the small piece of paper from my pocket. "Isn't that your hand writing?"

She stared at the paper as if she was praying for it to disappear. "I didn't write that."

I took the paper and began to read aloud.
The top of the paper was written in italics. "Terry, please read before you do anything."
Underneath was a set of instructions. Reading:

1. "I've had Emma bring Daniel and Chad to the storage house.
2. Mum has already threatened him and told him to obey everything we say.
3. Using his cell, I texted Michelle and told her to meet him at the restaurant.
4. Daniel would take Chad and tell him to find her while we take him.
5. Chad has already been instructed to beg Michelle to come with him to the car.
6. Start the engine explosion and then act like her rescue.
7. If she doesn't comply, knock her out and bring her to the storage house.
8. Everything is in your hands from there UNLESS you want me to help."

When I was finished reading, Tears were rolling down Rachael's face.
"I didn't write that." She screamed between tears. "You know I wouldn't write that."

Just then, the sound of sirens hit our ears. Both of us stared at each other as we wondered who had called 911.

"Enjoy your last bit of freedom," I winked at my twin sister. "You did the crime, now do the time." I waved the piece of paper in front of her face. "All the proof I need."

It wasn't long before the officers made their way into the house. Rachael tried to push me away so that she could hide, but I screamed at her to keep quiet. Following the noise, the police entered the room and showed their warrant to us.

After explaining everything that happened to the police, they called the ambulance for Terry while I showed them the room where I was held hostage, followed by the room where Daniel and Chad were still tied up. All this time, Rachael was still crying saying that she didn't do anything wrong, but I showed them the letter and after testing her handwriting, they dismissed her cries. The officers informed Daniel and I that they couldn't do anything unless we wanted to press charges, when we stated that we did, we were given a date to appear in court three weeks later.

Daniel, Chad, Terry and I were then taken to the hospital where we were examined for injuries. While Daniel, Chad and I were released almost immediately, Terry remained because not only did he suffer from severe blood lost, but he had a concussion. To my horror, the doctors told us that Terry had a seventy-five percent chance of survival as long as he is given blood.

Stressed, upset and tired, I was taken to Daniel's house to rest because I had nowhere else to go. I fell asleep in the police car a number of times, but each time, I was awakened by Terry's face which kept recurring in my dreams. Each time Daniel would hold me while Chad rested his head in my lap in an attempt to make me feel relaxed. I assured them both that I was ok and I struggled to stay awake, only to drift into unconsciousness again because I was extremely tired.

On the fourth time waking up, I noticed that we were close to home and I forced my eyes to stay open until I got there. As soon as we pulled into the driveway at Daniel's house, I immediately noticed that something was wrong. Ignoring the feeling, I held onto Daniel tightly as he led me to the door. A couple of feet from the door, Daniel stopped walking and tensed a bit, that was when I looked up and saw Jerry standing in front of the door.
