Candy Spelling to Release Memoirs Called "Stories from Candyland"
Candy Spelling has a new book coming out today titled "Stories from Candyland" and detailing her relationship with her children, grandchildren and late husband.
She’s been in the news of late because of the jaw-dropping price she’s trying to fetch for her 56,000-square-foot mansion, but Candy Spelling is now aiming to be more than just Tori Spelling’s mom and Aaron Spelling’s widow. Rather, she’s trying to make a name for herself all by her lonesome by putting forth a rather frank memoir titles "Stories from Candyland."
As one may expect, the memoirs focus on Tori and the grandchildren, as well as the grief-stricken mother and grandmother’s estrangement from her family. The new book is due out today, just as Candy plans to move to a "quaint" 17,000-square-foot condo worth $47 million. In the book, Candy admits that she would never have considered selling the massive Spelling estate if she had any hope of reconciling with her daughter Tori, but she just doesn’t see that as likely. Tori, her husband Dean and their children Liam and Stella rarely see Candy, which has proven to be a point of exasperation for the elder Spelling.
"I don’t see Tori and Dean anymore. I used to see Liam, but no longer. And I’ve never met Stella. If I had any hope that I would have a relationship with my grandchildren I would never sell this house. I’ve fantasized for years about a wonderful playhouse on the grounds for the children. Someday my grandchildren will know who I am because of the trust funds I’ve set up, but I would like to be a part of their lives now. I would have loved to have built that playhouse for them."
