Rich-flavored candy bars can be extremely hard to resist, especially for those who often have cravings for sweets. Manufacturers of candy bars have always been very creative when it comes to choosing ingredients and have successfully created a host of tempting flavors that will always manage to tickle your taste buds. While some of them give you that instant burst of delicious chocolate flavor, some have dried fruits and caramel coated with chocolate. It's not just kids who love these candy bars, adults love candy bars as well! Mars, Hershey, Ferrero and Nestlé are some of the popular candy bar manufacturers who have maintained their reputation by producing some of the most delicious candy bars. Given below is a candy bar names list that mentions the names of candy bars which have been a hit for years. But before you move on to the list of candy bars, take a peek into the history of some popular candy bars.

Top Five Candy Bars

Here, I have mentioned the top 5 candy bars, which are of course, as per my choice. The choice and popularity may vary with different websites, reviews, or even with people.

Snickers
Snickers is manufactured by Mars. It was launched in 1930. Though it was launched around eighty years back, it has managed to be amongst the most popular candy bars even now! The slogan of snickers, 'Hungry? Grab a Snickers', says it all. Snickers claims to contain more nutrients than fats. This delicious candy bar contains nougat, caramel, roasted peanuts and milk chocolate. The name 'Snickers' was standardized in 1989, and it was named after a horse that belonged to the Mars family.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Harry Burnett Reese, the inventor of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, used to work as a dairyman for the Hershey Farms in 1917 and also worked at their factory in the early 1920s. Reese built his own factory in 1926 and used his experience at Hershey's to develop his own collection of candies in 1923. The brand name is obviously named after its owner. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups often finds a mention as one of the most popular candy bars in the candy bar names list. Hershey Chocolate Corporation took Reese's company in 1963.

Hershey's
The name Hershey's is associated with chocolates. Milton Hershey, the founder of Hershey Chocolate Company, came up with the recipe for milk chocolate candies in 1900s. People consider Hershey's as the first candy of America. During the first world war, the U.S. Army was one of the major clients of Hershey's.

M&Ms
The brand name M&Ms, stands for their founder, Mars and Murrie. The slogan 'M&Ms melt in your mouth, not in your hand', was actually inspired by Spanish soldiers! The story behind this was that Mars, on a trip to Spain, saw that Spanish soldiers ate chocolate pellets which had sugary shells. The sugary shell prevented it from melting. So, this inspiration led to the invention of M&Ms in 1941.

Milky Way
Popularly known as 'Mars bar', Milky Way was created during the 1920s. Though it is commonly thought that the brand name is based on the original 'milky way', the galaxy, it is not so. The name was actually created as a competition to malted milkshakes of that time.
