Candida Treatment - Yeast and Candida Facts
There are many theories in candida treatment. While there are a few medicines that work for all, at least the companies making or selling them claim that they do, then there are those that do not tend to do that. But the fact is that, in recent years, with the advances in medical science and the introduction of natural remedies, a few candida treatments are indeed present in the market that do work effectively for patients suffering in various stages of candida.
Those who are into alternative medicine are of the view that individualized programs combining diet and supplements are good. The supplements are initiated slowly to avoid the symptoms getting worse temporarily – this is referred to as a Herxheimer reaction or "die-off". When a candida treatment is used to removed from the system, there is a release of toxins and protein fragments and this can initiate a response from antibody of the body’s immune system. It takes about 2 or may be 4 weeks for an improvement in the symptoms to register.
The beneficial bacteria acidophillus can treat candida and this is done by increasing the acid contents in the intestinal tract and thus not allowing the candida to grow. It also creates hydrogen peroxide and this can kill the candida. Further to this, research has proved that DDS-1 which is a acidophilus (hydrogen peroxide-producing strain), can also minimize production of yeast that multiplies from antibiotics. Digestive tract needs a microbial balance and these bacteria can restore it, and is thus beneficial.
One teaspoon of soluble fiber that has pectin or flaxseeds, psyllium husks and guar gum when mixed with an 8 oz glass of water and taken twice daily before any food is good. Reportedly, this is also an effective candida treatment.
Capsules that are enteric-coated and having volatile oils, peppermint oil and oregano oil are able to stop the uncontrolled growth of candida and so this is also a candida treatment that many follow to get the desired results. However this line of treatment is normally recommended for quite a few months, and so is a long term candida treatment plan.
A standard dosage is 2 capsules twice daily with water, and this is to be taken between meals. Volatile oils that are pure can become toxic, and due to this they should never be taken as liquids. It is also important to ensure that the capsules are not broken when they are being ingested. These important points need to be kept in mind while following this candida treatment plan.
Garlic capsules planned to be enteric-coated and supposed to open when reaching the intestines, are recommended as a combination with some volatile oils. One capsule twice daily with the volatile oil that is enteric-coated is a normal recommendation and this is reported to give positive results.
Other important supplements that can be good for candida treatment are pau d'arco, oregano oil, olive oil oleic acid and caprylic acid that are extracted from coconuts. There are quite a few combination products that have been formulated to treat candida containing these supplements and herbs.
