Candida Overgrowth Symptoms
Candida overgrowth is also known as Candidiasis. A healthy immune system keeps the growth of candida in a controlled proportion. One of the main reasons for the growth of candida in the intestines is too high a consumption of sugar or carbohydrates. This results in destruction of the friendly bacteria in the intestines. This in turn makes way for yeast to overgrow and spread infection in the digestive system. Candida overgrowth symptoms are numerous and are not interpreted easily. The different symptoms of candida growth have been briefly described below.

The Symptoms
The effects of a food or airborne allergies intensify over time; gastrointestinal disorders like bloating, stomach cramps, poor digestions, constipation, intestinal gas, diarrhea, abdominal gas, kidney and bladder infections, bowel disorders, mucus in stools may occur. Conditions like heart burn, hemorrhoids and belching are also common symptoms of candida overgrowth.

The person experiences extreme fatigue all the the time and feels more tired after meals. This is accompanied by dizziness, headaches and sometimes migraines. The person becomes easily irritable and experiences frequent mood swings. Unusual cravings for sugar or bread develop and concentration is affected. Dizziness, confusion while learning, drowsiness, depression, hormonal imbalances and lowered immunity are the discernible candida overgrowth symptoms.

Genito-urinary syndromes like menstrual disorders, vaginal itch, vaginal discharge, impotency or low sex drive, burning on urination, vaginal infections, rectal itch and infertility are also prominent as candida overgrowth symptoms.

Hay fever, bad breath, sores or blisters around the mouth, nasal itching, nasal congestion, post nasal drip, sinusitis, blocked nose, asthma, bronchitis, earaches, sore throats, sensitivity to chemicals, multiple food sensitivities, sensitivity to perfume, sensitivity to tobacco smoke are also experienced by the infected person.

The person may also suffer from asthmatic symptoms, ear pain or discharge, and disorders like athlete's foot. Other candida overgrowth symptoms include erratic vision, jock itch, fungal and sinus infections, and hair loss. Eczema, rashes, hives, pain in muscles, sinus infections, tonsillitis, acne, and psoriasis also occur.

Suffering from all such symptoms is not necessarily a sign of candida yeast overgrowth. However, the possibilities are high. As mentioned, the symptoms are difficult to interpret as they mimic symptoms of other medical conditions. According to a report, 95% of patients who died due to cancer were later diagnosed with Candidiasis. The symptoms vary from person to person. Overgrown yeast can prove to be detrimental to health. Overgrowth of yeast is difficult to control once it starts growing its roots. It does not take much time for these roots to spread the infection in other parts of the body.

Candidiasis Prevention Tips
The first and foremost requirement is to curb the intake of sugar or sweet products. The higher the consumption of sugar, the higher the chances of candida overgrowth.

Follow proper oral hygiene. Maintain a habit of brushing your teeth after meals and use antiseptic mouthwash.

There is a high risk of Candidiasis among alcoholics. This is because of the fact that alcohol is converted into sugar in the body and this favors the growth of yeast.

Including garlic in the diet also helps in preventing the growth of candida in the intestines. This spice is a natural anti-fungal product.

As mentioned earlier, yeast grows in the absence of the friendly bacteria of the intestines. So a diet rich in yogurt or milk is also an effective way to prevent candida growth because they contain lactic bacteria. These bacteria play a vital role in preventing the growth of yeast in the body.

Candida yeast overgrowth is also triggered by heat and moisture. So try to keep your skin clean and dry. Take care to change any sweaty clothes and dry yourself well after taking a shower.

As we have seen, candida overgrowth symptoms are more than a person can take. So instead of suffering from such painful and undesirable conditions, why not take a little care beforehand! A healthy diet and proper hygiene are all it takes to keep this nasty infection at bay. Eat healthy and lead a healthy life!
