Lyuss, a 16-year-old beautiful Princess who lives in a great well-known castle called Notuire in the land of Nordish. Her father of course the King Zander and her mother the Queen Una live in a world of demons, evil creatures, and of course pure hearts.
"Odyum what is this man Derc? And why is he a bad man?" Odyum, Lyuss best friend and servant walk to her side to see what she was talking about. "Right here on this scroll."
"This man is a mystery and still is today."
Lyuss and Odyum are in the palace library snooping around when they were supposed to be studying.
"Why is it that he's a mystery?" Lyuss ask, she found a chair next to her and decided to sit on it like she knew it was going to be a long story.
"Derc once been the most noble and bravest knights of all. He slash all the demons and evil creatures out there and nothing could stop him from anyone or anything hurting Nordish. Until one day the palace keeper Duwa accused Derc of raping her.
They went to councils to councils but still they couldn't prove if he was guilty or innocent. Then when everything was forgotten he did the most unforgettable he had killed the house keeper husband while knight Lursh was there to witness it. He was put in the dungeon for five years, when they release him he got married to a teacher that he met during his time in the dungeon and ran off to live somewhere else." Lyuss set the scroll down.
"So then, wouldn't he be guilty if the knight Lursh was there to witness?" Odyum stood up to look away from the scroll.
"It was said that while he was in the council court, pure hearts attend and that is a really rare thing for them to appear." Pure hearts are good sprits that witness everything in the world, they know who is good from bad. "The council was going to execute Derc but the pure hearts step in so they only gave him five years."
"How did the pure hearts do that?" Lyuss ask.
"Do what?"
"How did they, the pure ones stop Derc from getting executed?" Odyum walk back to her side.
"Well there the pure ones and if you do execute someone while the pure ones are there then you'll regret it, because pure hearts represent innocents." There were noises out in the halls so Odyum went to stand by the door.
"Then why did the pure ones let Derc get five years?"
"They stop the council from executing Derc and that's the only thing they do. They only stop execution on a person when they're innocent, what else would you ask instead of being dead." Odyum still had his head lean on the door to hear if anyone was coming.
"So if no one knows if Derc is innocent or not then why did he get fives years?
"The council is corrupt and still is today. Your father has so many things on his hand he doesn't even notice it." Lyuss stood up.
"Could I do something about it?"
"Government is not a place for a lady and you know it. Besides you're the Princess your dad doesn't allow you to go out of the palace."
"Odyum!" the library door slammed open hitting Odyum on the head.
"Ouch!" He rub his head.
"Odyum! Princess you are supposed to be studying not reading about cases." Duwa grab the scroll and threw it back to its rightful place.
"Don't blame Odyum it was me, I drag him to come along." Duwa had her hands on her hips.
"Ok, out before your father finds out then you'll both will be in trouble."
"Come on Odyum." Lyuss push Odyum out of the door into the hall.
Lyuss still had her hand lock into Odyums leading him to outside but still in the palace grounds. It was getting dark soon and they were getting excited, Lyuss pull Odyum to the little pond were her gold-fish lived. They sat very close to each other on the rocks around the pond.
"You remember the plan?" Lyuss said while looking around to see if there was someone listening.
"Yeah. But I still think we shouldn't go, if we get caught again then we'll have to do a whole sheet of an apology with 300 words." Odyum said.
"Don't worry I got it cover see." Lyuss took out a little packet of sheets in her hand from her bag. "I'm ahead, every night I would do five sheets so I wouldn't have to do it in one day. I just finish yesterday and it has 300 words exactly." She smile at her hard work.
"But if we do get caught it's good for you 'cause your already done but what about me? I would still have to do it." Odyum said while looking through the sheets.
"You promise me you would take me to the celebration of the food festival."
"I know and I will."
"Great! Ok now remember when everyone is asleep we'll meet each other at the very top tower, where you'll tie a rope on to a bow and shoot it at a tree then we'll slide from there."
"Yeah I know I'm the one who came up with the plans."
"Kay well gotta go and get ready see you tonight." Lyuss gets up and walks backwards towards the castle doors.
"See ya." Odyum gets up and walks the opposite to make it look like they weren't together.
Lyuss walk into the castle finding all the servants running around back and forth. She stop in mid center to figure out if she should go to her room or ask the servants what's going on when she knew when this happens it is no good news. She decided to ask anyway to kill some time.
"Linda what's going on here?" Lyuss stops in front of Linda which she have been running back and forth.
"Oh, there you are. Where have you been? Oh, just forget what I just said. Um... your parents are waiting for you in the visiting room there's someone they want you to meet." Linda was out of breath.
"Meet who? And why are you guys running all over the place?" Lyuss was looking beyond Linda shoulders to see the other servants in cheer.
"You'll know what's going on when you go meet your parents. Now no more questions and go." Lyuss turn around to the direction to the visit room.
Lyuss wasn't excited or mad she didn't know how to react when she's found out she's been summon to the visit room. This was her first time her parents summon her to meet someone and in the visit room. Do they know my plans for tonight? Did someone see me and Odyum talking? No, it's nothing. That's ridicules I made sure no one was around when we talk or was there someone hiding in the woods?
"Your Highnesses, Princess Lyuss had arrive."
Lyuss walk into the visit room to find her parents sitting in their chairs. There was a lady in a big red dress and a man wearing a clothe hat with a feather sticking out. They were sitting off on the side with fancy looking clothes that made them look royal. There was a man standing next to this couple looking at me. He look younger than the couple, maybe their son. Lyuss walk towards her parents with the feelings of eyes still staring at her. She bow to her parents and move to the side when the man came up to her. He bow to her, he wanted to do more but he couldn't. Lyuss was kind of nervous now, she never been summon to meet a man before and not before her parents.
"My lady." Lyuss just nod at the gesture.
"Darling this is Prince Vince and that over there is his parents." Mother gesture towards the couple as Lyuss turn to look. "They are the leader of the Bavens."
"Nice to finally meet you Lyuss." Vince mother said. "You are more beautiful than what they say you are."
"Thank you. But um...could I ask, why was I summon here for?" Lyuss look at her parents.
"Lyuss as you know that is Prince Vince, you're getting older now and we want you to be wed." Father said.
"What? You want me to get married. But there is still more in the world I never got to do and I want to do. And-"
"Darling don't talk like this is the end of the world. Give it a tough Vince is a many man, he's a knight that can read, write, he's bright." Like all nobles know how to do. "Play interments and he can also sing like you."
"But...could I get a day or two to think this over?" Mother and father look at each other, then back at me.
"Fine, but we want the answer tomorrow. You can now leave Lyuss." Lyuss bow and turn to leave.
I'll just say no, they are giving me options Vince is not a bad guy don't get me wrong he's very handsome, but I don't want to be wed yet. I still have a whole life a head of me. As Lyuss pass the door she thought she could cry but she didn't, the one thing she hate the most was when she cries.
"Hey, Lyuss." Lyuss turn around to find Vince running towards her. "Look I don't want to put any pressure on you, but do you mind if I can come...wait." Vince grab Lyuss hand and ran to a safe place.
"Where are you taking me?" Lyuss said with a short breath.
"Not now I'll tell you later." They ran pass the public library and the private library which Odyum and Lyuss was in earlier.
They kept running until Vince stop, they were in the ballroom. Surprising, Vince knows this place 'because it's hard for a first timer to find the ballroom. Vince let Lyuss hand go and bow for her to dance. Lyuss did the same she bow, Vince stood up and put his hands up as Lyuss lock her hand into his and his hand on her waist. What's so harmful to dance with a guy I just met it would be mean if I say no, then everything would be awkward.
"I brought you here so no one can here us. So about tonight do mind if I could go with you and Odyum to the food festival?" Lyuss stop dancing.
"You were watching us?" Vince took by the waist and hand to start dancing again.
"Somewhat, I was passing by and then I saw you it just took my breath away so I got carried away."
"No, you can't come and you're not going to tell anyone or I will kill you and refuse to marry you."
"So you do agree with the marriage." Vince smirk.
"No, just another way to torture you." Vince turn Lyuss around.
"Getting torture by you sounds good so if I can't go then I guess I'll have to tell on you." Vince let go of Lyuss and started walking back.
"Fine! Bring a bow and arrow, a rope, and tonight left over cake then you can come."
"Deal." Lyuss walk off to get ready for dinner and for the big plan for tonight.
"And if you fail you are going to regret it, but not from me but from Lursh."
"Lursh, oh, him the knight. Did you forget that I'm one myself and the best one."
"Bye!" Lyuss stomp her way out.
"Lursh my butt." Just as Vince open the ballroom door Lursh was standing right by the door.
Vince walk by like he didn't say anything before.
