It's always had to let go of summer when the seasons change.
Can anybody tell me
How to bottle summer?
So that the hot days and balmy nights
Are under lock and key
So to say.
Then when fall arrives
And nights are dark and long
I can uncork a bottle
An have myself some summer fun.
Can anybody tell me
How to keep summer in my room?
So that in the winter
When there is snow and ice outside
I can bask in the summer sunshine.
Can anybody tell me
If perhaps summer is a season
Which comes once every year
So that it will be to us dear?
And we’ll appreciate it
All the more
When it comes again
After winter’s chill.
