Can Acne Scars Be Healed?

Acne scars are a tough situation. Once you have them, it's hard to get rid of the scar. Read up on the best ways to prevent and treat acne scars.
We're all aware that, with acne, comes more than just irritating bumps, but after those bumps, potentially life-long scars take it's place. Scars are by far worse than the acne itself. Even though acne may create these hideous marks upon our skin, we at least know acne can go away. Scars...well, they stay forever. For the most part. What a lot of people don't realize is that acne doesn't inevitably leave scars. It's the things we do, how we treat our skin while it's prone to acne, that heightens the chances of us boring scars at the end of this dreaded phase. Acne scars can be prevented. But what happens once you already have the scars? Can they be healed?

Not everyone scars once they've had acne. But there are some people who are more immune to scarring than others. If your acne reaches a certain stage that leaves you worried about the aftermath, go see a doctor and talk it out with him. If you feel you haven't reached that stage yet, then there are techniques to avoid scarring after acne.

First, absolutely do not pick or squeeze your pimple. If the puss has built and it looks about ready to pop, don't help it along the way. Popping and squeezing pimples will lead to scarring. By that point, it would be inevitable. Also, if your hands aren't clean, don't touch your pimples.

Better yet, don't touch your pimples at all, whether you have clean hands or not. It's best to avoid irritating the acne. Another way to avoid scars is if you treat acne the moment you spot it. For the most part, acne scars can be healed, unless you suffered from serious acne, such as cysts. In that case, the scarring is too deep to be healed properly. There are methods people who suffer from deep scarring can use, but all any product on the market can do is lessen the damage, not erase it entirely. Like any other scar, certain 'procedures' are required to take care of it before the scar has come into place, and after. But as we all know, not many scars go away.

But this doesn't erase all marks of hope. If you have scarring already, then the best thing to do is go see your doctor and come up with the best products that can reduce the damage. Or go online and do a little researching--you're bound to come up with a product or two that will push you in the right direction. However, if you haven't gotten passed the acne stage and into the stage where scarring occurs, you have many paths to choose in order to prevent scarring.

One would be to go and see your doctor, as well. Even if you think scarring isn't likely, having a talk with your doctor is highly suggested. Another step would be to follow the many steps listed above. 1, catch acne before it's gotten to a certain stage. 2, wash your face daily. 3, remove all forms of make-up, etc. If you abide by these rules, and the many others you can find after a little research, scar-free skin will be inevitable.
