Camp Heaven - Epilogue
If you were satisfied with the first ending, and want to leave it on that note, then don't read this, but if you just wanted more closure, than be my guest!
EPILOGUE
Last summer changed my perspective on life. When I went back to school, I was amazed at how quickly my friends suddenly loved me again. I knew they were lying. I hadn’t received one thing from any of them for ninety days when they all knew what I was going through. Logan was right; his dad was overly excited to learn that I wanted to be a counselor, especially after he read my journal. There was a small lecture on inter-camp relationships, but I think he was just happy to know that we loved each other.
The moment I stepped onto the wet, green grass I remembered my first day here, and how much anger I had. Now, I was only looking forward to meeting my campers and seeing… "LOGAN!" As soon as I shrieked his name, he glanced over and smiled. We ran to meet and didn’t let go of each other for the rest of the day.
The rest of my summer was spent with his group, and each of my campers liked me almost immediately. Most of them changed fairly quickly. It was odd, seeing it from the outside. Almost surreal, but it was a nice feeling. I felt like those stars that have magazine interviews and all say the same thing, "Looking back over the years, I see myself in my first movies and see how much I’ve changed. I was so young and naïve, but now I know that nothing can break me apart from who I am."
Yes, it was a ridiculous, irrational feeling, but it caused love. After those horrible ninety days, I got new friends, joined the cadet teacher program, and have gotten accepted to Stanford. Surprisingly enough, so did Logan, and for the next few years, we will both be studying there. I’m hoping to become a guidance consoler, and Logan wants to be in social services. Until then, we both are just happy to be alive and be who we are.
As a last comment, I would like to say that this story is dedicated to a very important person in my life who is no longer here on Earth (and no, she’s not an astronaut). I hope that you all liked the story, and I’ll post my new story idea right after I have this one up. If you want to comment on anything that happened in Camp Heaven or The Last Story, or you just have an idea for my newest story, then please do so! I know that it’s annoying having to go through the whole security thing, but it takes less than 7 seconds! PLEASE SAY SOMETHING!!! :D
