Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This article describes all the wonderful tourists activities available at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
One of the country's prime resorts, the town of Cabo San Lucas has developed out of recognition over the past five years. Its small fishing community has been swamped by commercial fishing, the new Marina Cabo San Lucas and its flotilla of yachts, 24-hour partying, and serious shopping.

There are numerous water-born trips that depart from Cabo San Lucas. The arch, which features in so many photographs, is a prime destination, while scuba divers and snorkelers generally head for the Roca Pelicano sea lion colony and the reef off Chileno, which is located approximately 14km (9 miles) east of town. Beach-lovers prefer the Playa Medano on the Bahia de Cabo San Lucas, the more distant Playa del Amor with its colonies of gulls and pelicans and, down the Corridor, Playa Santa Maria and Playa Chileno. Other options include renting kayaks and exploring the coves and, of course, game fishing. The best fishing season is n October and November when annual tournaments pack in the crowds. Lastly, though for many people the only reason to visit Los Cabos, there is golf. The fees are rather high, but the courses are wonderful.

After sports and before partying, the local shops are worth a visit. Mexican folk art, pottery and hammocks are among the good buys. El Rancho and Galeria Dorado in particular have good quality items.

After dark, the volume increases dramatically, and the numerous bars, restaurants and discos really get into top gear. The choice of venues is vast and the menus are as international as the clientele.
