Cut: It refers to the angles and proportions of the stone. The nature of the diamond is determined by the other three factors. A well cut diamond reflects light from one facet to another and projects the shine to the top of the stone.

Color: Diamonds come in a wide range of colors. It ranges from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow). Colorless diamonds are the most expensive ones and are pure.

Clarity: The more clear the diamond, the more expensive it is. The lesser the inclusion, the better is the diamond. Clarity is also measured on a scale. The imperfections in the Slightly Inclusive grade are sometimes visible to the naked eye.

Carat Weight: It refers to the weight of the diamond. The heavier the weight, the more expensive is the diamond. By proper mounting and shaping, a diamond may appear larger than its weight.

Diamond rings come in a variety of shapes. The most common shape is the round diamond ring because of its round edge. Then comes the oval shaped diamond, it is the most traditional and classical style in diamond rings.

Square or rectangle shaped engagement rings are the most brilliant in shine having four edges. Heart shaped diamond ring has a very fine cut and is always in high demand as it is an elegant way of expressing a couple’s impending union and romance. These days, the pink diamond engagement rings are in high demand.

The quality of the ring depends on these four features and shape of the ring. It is not the quality, or the shape that matters but the feeling that goes into buying an engagement ring.
