Buying a CD or DVD Automated Duplicator for your Business

Why buying an automated duplication system for your business makes economic sense.
The difference between a duplicated disc and a replicated disc is that the replicated discs are created using plastic injection molding and the data is stamped into the disc with a glass master. With a duplicated disc, it is burned into a blank CD or DVD with lasers. Having your own duplicator offers many advantages to a business or a even a band. With the advances in automated duplication equipment, your final product can look just as good if not better than a replicated disc.

The major advantage is that with a duplicator, you control the number of discs produced and can produce small quantities for testing purposes. With replication, the minimum is typically 1000 pieces. This means, if you want to produce 10 quality looking discs and test the market, you can. With replication, it is not economical to since you will pay for 1000.

Today’s automated systems such as the Fusion manufactured and sold by Mediatechnics , provide a hands free way of producing small or large runs. Many duplication houses use these systems to produce one offs and even 1000 or more piece runs. These systems allow you to read in the master or masters, load the number of disc desired on a spindle, input the disc image for printing, press start and walk away. The system will pick up the disc, load them into the trays, burn the data to the disc, remove it from the tray and load it into either a thermal or inkjet printer, print the image and then stack the finished product on a spindle.

When you research which system is right for you, be sure to call and talk with the company about your specific needs. They will be able to direct you to a system that will work best for you. Call around, talk with different manufactures and see which one is best suited for your application. Try to buy directly from the manufacturer. There are many companies that resell equipment. When you contact them, be sure to ask if they are distributor or manufacturer. If go direct, you typically get better customer service and support.
