A lot of people love to toy with the idea of performing butterfly knife tricks, but let me remind you something, it's not a plaything. Despite the government keeping a ban on using the butterfly knife in public, many hobbyists enjoy exercising cool knife tricks. Butterfly Knife Trick for Beginners
When you open or close the butterfly knife, it creates the illusion of a butterfly's wings flapping around. The unique design makes the opening and closing of the knife very swift and easy, which basically means you can do so with one hand. Now it's time we take a look at some easy knife tricks for beginners.
Step #1: First of all, being familiar with the butterfly knife is very important, and you will have to buy steel-toed boots as well. The boots are to protect your feet while you're practicing the knife tricks and drop it at times. Also, cover the sharp edge of the knife with an electric tape. This way, if you happen to grab the blade by mistake, you won't injure yourself.
Step #2: Locate the knife's safe handle. You will see that it doesn't have a latch underneath it, so you might have to keep holding the safe handle as you open it with your little finger. This will make the blade and latch hang freely. The blade should be in your palm (right or left hand), while your thumb and index finger will be on the safe handle.
Step #3: A basic trick is which holds the key to all the other tricks. If you get this one, then you can pretty much manipulate yourself into learning the other knife tricks as well. Hold the knife steady, loosen it in your fingers, and fling your wrist toward the back. This will make the handle go around to the back of your hand and open the blade. Again fling your wrist towards you (opposite of what you did before). This will open the knife completely.
Step #4: Opening the knife has to be in one swift movement. This is part of the knife tricks. Now let's take a look at the continuation of this trick. Once you finish the first-half of the trick, the second-half needs you to jerk the hand upward. Again, do this as rapidly and confidently as you can. It may take you some time to become confident with flinging the knife swiftly.
Step #5: The idea of flinging the knife upward is to get it positioned straight up (vertically). The blade will pass the horizontal level; and this is where you give another fling.
Step #6: Fling your hand again and pass the handle through the vertical level. This will make the handle fall back in its original place (in your fingers). There you have it, you have successfully finished learning two-part knife tricks.
