But Why So Soon? Chapter 24

The sun shimmered on the orange sky and maroon twilight streaks lit the horizon. The air gushed in and passed through my hair gently, smoothly. My eyes were looking at the amazing view as we were going back to black diamond. Jonathan and I met few of his friends at noon and they were a lot fun compared to his grandmother. I did not feel bit better even though I enjoyed a lot with Jonathan and his friends. One of his old friends Marianna told me how she always had a crush on Jonathan but how he left them after his father's death. And after so many years, even though he visited Paris frequently but he never greeted them, because of me, he was back. I felt jealous when she talked how she always thought he was one for her but now that she was engaged, it was a consolation.

Jonathan only had three friends, one Marianna and other two twin brothers, Jack and Harris. We all went to Louvre and it was a beautiful museum. Regardless I loved going around places and stuff, I felt very depressed and sad. I wanted to tell Jonathan everything but he seemed too happy and I did not want to hurt that smiling face ever. The Louvre had one of the biggest collections of history and when I saw the Mona Lisa, I was astonished. Everything seemed so unreal to me. I never thought I would visit a museum, let alone The Louvre. I wanted to be happy but whenever I felt like smiling, Jonathan's grandmother's face appeared in front of my eyes and I left me miserable again.

"Hey is everything all right?" Jonathan asked, his eyes looking into mine. He slowed down the car gradually and he held my hand.
"Oh yes... why are you asking?" I said, not sure what to say.
"You seemed so sad the whole time... did not you like my friends? If it's about Marianna then I can assure you nothing ever happened between us and now she's engaged so..." Jonathan said and I cut him off.
"No... it's not that... I..." I said as I struggled with tears. I felt very sad and depressed. I had no idea how to break this news to him but I had to.

"Yes... Elena what happened?" Jonathan said, cradling my face into his hands. I finally broke down and burst into tears.
"Please don't hate me... I did not do anything wrong... it's just that I am not very charming or very well behaved... your grandmother did not like me, in fact she hated me!" I cried, suddenly hugging him. I felt his arms hugging me closer and tighter. When I finally settled, he pulled back me so that he could see my face.
"Hey... she does not hate you... I know she must be very surprised to see you..." Jonathan said, his eyes warm with love and affection.

" I know... I mean... she is worried for you and that's all... she was scared that I might rob you and then leave you... I am so sorry I know I am hurting you by saying this whole stuff but I couldn't help. She asked me to leave so I just stood outside and waited... hey if you want me to apologize to her... then I would for you..." I said between sobs and I saw rage swelling up in Jonathan's face.
"Elena... we will talk about it later... let's not ruin such an amazing evening... all right?" He said with a promising smile and then leaned in to kiss me. We kissed until a random car from behind honked the horn.

Jonathan asked me to get ready for the dinner as he said that he had got a surprise for me. I was super excited and I dressed in purple chiffon gown brought by the room service. It was beautiful deep purple dress with a ruffled fall. I applied light make up and fake eyelashes. I wore the necklace Jonathan gave me and a single, very delicate artificial bracelet with tiny diamonties. I curled my hair from the end and carefully pinned them from back by a tiny clip, embedded with fake and tiny diamonds. I gave myself final look in the mirror and I looked tall and beautiful. I looked deeply into my face and it seemed good to me. It was hairless and my eyebrows were done but I did not have facials often, so that must be missing. That is the reason Jonathan's gramps must be mad at me. Then I looked at my hands, my nails were neatly trimmed but they were not manicured. I smiled and my face did look beautiful. I twirled around in my dress and felt like a princess. I felt childish but good as well. A knock abrupt my thoughts and I knew who was at the door. I opened the door and Jonathan stood outside. He was again wearing something sexy and looked so irresistibly hot. Sometimes I wondered how I got so lucky to have him.

Jonathan took me to a bistro, but it was decorated like a five star hotel. Everyone was formally dressed and the best thing about it was the view of Eiffel Tower. He took me to Au Bon Accueil. It was one of the finest restaurants in Paris and with the view so breathtaking; it was the best time of my life. Jonathan and I took a table outside so that the amazing view of Eiffel tower warmed our eyes. Jonathan told me that today, especially for us; Chef Naobuni Sasaki was going to cook. He had retired but now he was going to cook for us and I felt delighted. I looked around and the weather was pleasant. It wasn't very cold in fact it was comfortably warm. Food was mouth-watering and very delicious. I loved the home-baked desserts.
"Hey... Elena?" Jonathan asked he looked worried and nervous.

"Yes..." I replied detaching my eyes from Eiffel Tower which glimmered in the night sky.
"Let's go..." He said and I gave a questioning look.
"Go where?" I asked as I looked into Jonathan's eyes, which seemed like a part of blue and twinkling sky.
He held my hand, and pulled me up.
"Walk to Eiffel Tower is just of two minutes, let's go there." Jonathan said as his fingers gently circled around my hand. We walked in silence. The Eiffel Tower was supposed to be closed but it wasn't. No one seemed to be there and the air smelled like love. I saw a table, decorated with roses and candles, and a red rose was lying on the table.

"Ohhhh... is it for me?" I asked, my heart warmed by the sight.
"Yes." Jonathan whispered and led me to a chair. The Eiffel tower stood above us and it was marvelous sight. Jonathan sat opposite to me and then I saw a guitar. He picked it up and gave me a big 'my Jonathan smile'. I smiled back and my eyes shone in the moonlight.
"This song is for my beautiful girl, Elena Swan. I feel whatever the lyrics say because Elena I Love You and I want you to be mine forever. "Jonathan smiled and then he started playing the guitar.
He sang, "Your Guardian Angel" by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. As soon as the song started, tears of happiness and love rushed to my eyes.

I heard these words and I smiled as tiny tears slid on my cheek. I loved the way he sang and took my breath away with every word. How much I love him and yearned
for this moment. I wanted to hug him and tell him I am all his, for eternity.

He looked at me, his eyes studying my face. I was crying helplessly. I ran to him and kissed him and we kissed till we both were breathless. I felt blood rushing through my body and with every beat I heard his voice. I looked into his eyes and the emptiness which I saw when I met him first time evanesced away and all I saw was me and our love.
"I love you so much..!!!" I said as I looked in his eyes, so beautiful, so mine.
"Hey I love you too..." Jonathan said and then he gently took a step back and slid on to his one knee, and said those words which made every little thing in the world fade away. It was just me and him.

"Elena Swan, will you marry me?" Jonathan said, the most beautiful ring in his hand and hope in his eyes. It was a platinum ring, mixed with white gold and it had a diamond on the top.
Suddenly tears muffled my view and I couldn't help nodding. My dream came true and I felt like he was all mine. He was a part of me and I just wanted to bury myself in him.

"Yesss, I would love to!!!" I said and suddenly jumping on Jonathan again. He gently placed the diamond ring on my finger. We kissed and kissed until we were unable to breathe. Tears streamed down my eyes and he stroked my face lovingly. He wiped my tears with his thumbs as he held my face and whispered lovingly, "You will not cry today..."

"I Love you" I mouthed and he kissed me passionately.
"ELENA... YOU ARE MINE FOR ETERNITY. I LOVE YOU MY WIFE!" Jonathan said, as he parted and held my face and looked deep into my eyes. The Eiffel Tower stretched above us and we were right below it, our eyes staring lovingly into each other. Moonlight embellished our bodies and we laid peacefully in each other's arms.
