Building Memories with an Ice Cream Scoop Franchise
I found a great idea for someone looking for an easy to operate franchise: get an ice cream scoop and sell ice cream!
Ice cream plays a large roll in many people’s lives. It’s not necessarily the ice cream itself, really, but some of the things we associate with it. Some of my favorite childhood memories begin with an ice cream scoop. Well, in a way at least. Ice cream is a family favorite of my family and of most of my friends’ families. Of course, we’d have ice cream for birthday parties, but there were so many other reasons to celebrate. Good grades, graduations, having competed in sports, after choir concerts and performances, family picnics, and the occasional "we-just-finished-dinner" celebration (or dessert) are just some of the reasons we would pull out the ice cream scoop.
Along with reasons to share an ice cream experience with someone, there’s the style of ice cream. Sometimes there’s something to using an ice cream scoop, piling the ice cream on a cone, and slowly spinning while licking that’s just the way to go. Then again, maybe a shake or two is what’s called for. Maybe a couple wants to enjoy a malt like they did in the "good old days." Maybe it’s a nervous couple, out for the first time. How about a root beer float? Or sherbet? Helping people make lasting memories with friends and family seem like a great reason to think about selling ice cream, scoop by scoop, to people. Whatever the style of ice cream the situation calls for, only ice cream of the highest quality and freshness should touch the ice cream scoop.
Some ice cream franchises use an ice cream parlor layout. Some use a kiosk format for a mall-type setting. Still others use a smaller cart for more flexibility. There’s a retail opportunity for almost any type of situation you may be looking for.
Here’s another thing to think about: an ice cream, easy to operate, franchise is different! How many hamburger or sandwich shop are around? If your area is anything like mine, there’s at least one on almost every corner. Ice cream shops are fewer and farther between. That also means that it’s harder to get lost in the cluttered jumble with everyone else. Also, an ice cream shop requires fewer employees to use an ice cream scoop than burger-flipping franchises using spatulas or sandwich shops using… sandwich tools. You get what I mean, right?
Ice Cream is here to stay. People are always looking for good ways to connect to one another and build lasting memories. Sometimes they go for big, expensive memories, like trips, vacations, cars, electronics, and the like. There are those who, like me, generally prefer the small and simple things in life to feel connected to friends and loved ones. An ice cream scoop has never been so powerful.
