Ingredients
- 6 slices of French bread, 1/2 inch thick
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 lb smoked sausage
- 1/2 lb mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon chopped onion
- 1/2 lb shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Cut sausage into cubes or small pieces.
- Spread the chunks on the French bread.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, mustard, salt and pepper and blend well.
- Then add the chopped onions and mushrooms and mix them together.
- Pour this mixture over the bread with sausages.
- Top it with shredded cheese.
- Cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Next morning add a little more cheese and cream of mushroom soup, and bake at 350° for about 50 min, until it puffs up and sets. Get ready to serve it for brunch and get loads of compliments from your guests.
