Broombox
The teacher told me so.
In the eyes of others
A broombox is nothing but a box
But for me, it keeps our dirty little secrets hidden.
Dusts and cobwebs contain it
But it utters no complain.
It has its own world
Despite its irritating surrounding.
Brooms, husks and floorwax,
All the cleaning helpers,
It shelters them all
From the violent mishaps that may fall.
In a roomful of students,
Who brought their heavy burdens
The broombox was silently taking those burdens away.
To think that it’s just a box
When it’s actually more
The books and dusts
Are those dirty little secrets we kept.
