Broken Barn

This was done as an assignment for Creative Writing at GCC. About a man who lost his son in a war. You couldn't mention son, war, death or the man himself . So this is my creation of how he sees a barn. That was the thing how the man saw a barn.
The barn before me is tattered and torn
The wood is fraying
The door is gone

The horse stalls are empty
The floor bare
To me this place is sparse

The wind shakes it from the ground
The shutters creak and groan
No one sees the same as I

The barn is bright and all attached
People marvel at the act
But I will always see the same

A broken barn torn and frayed
