Brittany Murphy’s Hubby a Con Man?

Murphy, 29, married Factory Girl director Simon Monjack in a quiet ceremony in April after only four months of dating. Now there are reports that Monjack is really a con man and only married Murphy to keep from being deported. It was reported that Monjack was arrested on March 27 on expired Visa charges and allegedly Murphy had to bail him out of jail. A source said, "Simon began pushing for marriage, since he was going to be deported." The source also added that Murphy had to buy her own engagement ring.

Monjack reportedly also has two warrants our for his arrest in Virginia for alleged credit card theft and fraud. He reportedly has an unpaid legal bill totaling $6,087 and a $502,910 judgement brought against him by a British investment firm. Monjack denies the allegations and reportedly said, "It is a real tragedy that success, greed, envy and celebrity are the motivation for attacking my family and character."

Monjack also reportedly gave his former fiancée Taira Rafiq and engagement ring that was a cubic zirconia despite the fact that he claimed it was a diamond. There are reports all over the Internet that he is a charming con man who cons unsuspecting women out of their money and then disappears. Murphy and Monjack reportedly tied the knot last month in a small and intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles and only their families were present. Only time will tell if the reports are true or if Monjack and Murphy truly are in love and meant to be…but does anyone in Hollywood know what true love is anyway?
