Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline appeared in court Tuesday for a custody hearing for their sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. Federline’s attorney said after the hearing that the boys will remain in their father’s custody, but that their time with their mother will be "more than it has been." Kaplan said, "The court made orders today, they were orders that the parties were able to mostly agree to. It represents a cautious step moving forward." Kaplan said that the court was pleased with Spears’ progress and that the ruling was a "cautious step going forward…a step in the right direction."

Spears and her parents were reportedly happy with Tuesday’s results. Her parents said in a statement, "We are so pleased with Britney’s progress and we are very appreciative of the court’s recognition of this progress." Not too many details were released about the custody arrangements, but it was reported that Spears will not be allowed any sleepovers with the children.

The boys have been in Federline’s custody since January when Spears refused to return one of those boys to his bodyguard which led to her being involuntarily hospitalized. Spears father, Jamie, and a lawyer were put in charge of her estate and legal affairs until a July 31 hearing. Her life has calmed down considerably since her father has taken a hold of her affairs. She has been spending more time with her family and has been working on getting her career back on track. She will also appear for a second time on the comedy How I Met Your Mother which will air next week.
