Britney Spears: Periodic Drug Testing Ordered
It has been reported that Britney Spears was ordered to submit to random twice-weekly drug testing in order to keep 50-50 custody of her children.
By: Shannon Gossage
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon called Spears a "habitual, frequent and continuous" user of alcohol and controlled substances. He ruled that Spears submit to twice-weekly random drug testing. Both Federline and Spears were told they may not indulge in alcohol or non-prescription controlled substances for at least 12 hours before being with their children Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. Gordon also ruled that Spears must meet with a "parenting coach" at least twice a week for eight hours. Gordon said, "The parenting coach is to observe Spear’s interaction with the minor children and her parenting skills." The coach will then provide written reports to be provided to lawyers for both Spears and Federline. The coach will also testify at the next court hearing scheduled for November 26.
Gordon also ruled that Spears and Federline must enroll in a program called "Parenting Without Conflict" by the end of this week, they must attend joint co-parenting counseling, and must agree on a therapist by the end of the week. They were told that they are not to use "corporal punishment" on their children and must not make "derogatory remarks" about each other or their families. As for now the custody arrangement remains the same. Federline is still seeking full physical custody of the boys and if Spears doesn’t play her cards right he just may get it.
It has also been reported that the boys are suffering the consequences of Spears problems. A source close to Federline said, "Dealing with the kids after they come back from Britney’s is really hard on Kevin. It takes him three days to get them back on any type of schedule." A friend of Spears’ reportedly defended the pop tart saying, "She loves her children so much, but it’s like she’s never been taught how to properly take care of them." The friend also said that is seemed as if Spears lacked the "maternal bond." It just seems that Spears just wants to have fun no matter what the consequences. Despite the heavy court ruling handed out on Monday, Spears was spotted club hopping on Tuesday. Spears and some friends were spotted at Winston’s in West Hollywood Tuesday night before making their way over to Hyde.
