Britney Spears’ Marriage Intervention
It has been reported that Britney Spears family and attorney hosted an intervention to get her to end her marriage to Kevin Federline.

A source said that Spears and Federline had an "explosive" argument on October 31 at a launch party for Federline’s new album Playing With Fire which led to the end of her marriage. The source said, "She came to support him and he treated her like s---!" Spears reportedly left the party in tears while Federline continued to party on through the night. The next day Spears family and her attorney, Laura Wasser, went to her home in Malibu and convinced her to end her marriage to Federline. The source said, "Kevin was never popular with anyone around Britney. She finally wised up."
Spears filed for divorce on November 7 after only two years of marriage citing "irreconcilable differences." She filed for sole custody of their two young sons – Sean Preston, 1, and Jayden James, 2 months. She also requested that each party pay their own attorney fees and that Federline not be awarded spousal support. The filing reportedly came as a surprise to Federline who reportedly learned that his wife had filed for divorce via a text message. Federline immediately turned around and filed his own petition for custody of the children, spousal support, and for Spears to pay his attorney fees.
Federline now says that he feels Spears is not fit to care for their children and that is why he filed for custody. Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said; "Kevin feels he is a great parent and is doing this solely in the best interest of his children. He’s not doing this for the money." Kaplan went on to say, "Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to protect the children and will not be dissuaded or intimidated from the pursuit of these goals." Federline has two other children – Kori, 4, and Kaleb, 2 – with ex girlfriend Shar Jackson. She has said that although he does not pay child support he does pay for their "very expensive" schooling. Spears’ grandfather, June Austin Spears, recently said, "Why didn’t he try and get custody of his other kids?" He answered his own question saying, "It’s because that other woman doesn’t have any money and Britney has money." But remember, Mr. Spears…this isn’t about money…yeah right!
