Britney Spears is Officially Back with Number 1 Album

Britney Spears, after a long and tumultuous fall from grace, is back with a number one album and control over her personal life.
After a long, hard road back to respectability, Britney Spears has climbed through the muck that has been the past several years and will end 2008 on a very celebratory note. The still-young singer now has the number one album in the country and what sweet music to her ears that must be. Spears’ album, Circus, has already sold more than 500,000 copies, which places it at the top of the Billboard charts with ease.

Says manager Larry Rudolph, "I think she is America’s pop princess, and the world’s pop princess, and this just reconfirms it to everyone who doubted it." And, whereas Spears was able to coax a number one spot from her last album, Blackout, that effort quickly spiraled downward in the charts in lockstep with her plummeting self esteem and control over her life. A reprise doesn’t seem likely now, however, as Spears is older (27 on December 2 of this year) and has her father, Jamie Spears, as her court-appointed conservator.

Spears, to celebrate the success of the new album, will likely just stay at home with the kids and famously replied several weeks ago that she feels like an "old fart" who goes to bed early and never goes out. On March 3, 2009, however, Spears will hit the road to kick off her national tour in New Orleans. Fans of the singer are happy to have her back, and one blogger who writes about Spears on a regular basis offered some advice to those who felt Brit wouldn’t make it back: "Suck on that haters."
