Britney Spears Investigates

Pop tart Britney Spears has hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on ex-husband Kevin Federline in their ongoing custody battle.

Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said, "I think that if that is what they need to do, or have to do, to have at it. I don’t think it will, in any way, be a good expenditure of funds. But I can’t stop that from happening." Kaplan feels confident that following Federline around would be a waste of time. He said, "I don’t think he would be concerned about it, and I don’t think he has to change anything he is doing in order to address that." Spears and Federline have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, for almost a year.

Federline was awarded full physical custody of the kids in early October after a misdemeanor charge was brought against Spears for a hit-and-run and driving without a valid license. Spears was awarded monitored visits with the boys, and was awarded one overnight visit to be monitored by a court-appointed monitor. She lost her visitation rights on October 17 after she refused to comply with court orders, but a few days later the visitation rights were reinstated.

Spears also recently lost the right to drive with her children in the car following a number of driving incidents. Federline was concerned for the children’s safety after Spears ran a red light into oncoming traffic recently with the boys asleep in the backseat. A judge banned the pop tart from driving the boys so she reportedly hired a driver. Kaplan reportedly said upon hearing that Spears hired a driver that "anything that puts the children in a car that reduces the risk…I am all for that."
