Britney Spears Granted Restraining Order Against Sam Lufti

Few details are being revealed as to the fine print involved in the restraining order, but a California judge awarded Jamie Spears the restraining order he sought against Sam Lufti. Jamie and his legal team argued that Lufti and his attorney, Jon Eardley, had caused Britney and the Spears family great emotional distress during their times of contact.

From a legal standpoint, the most critical aspect of the case may have been Jamie Spears' assertion that Lufti had tried to undermine the conservatorship that keeps Jamie in control of all of Britney's affairs. Clearly, Lufti and/or anyone else who was able to get inside Britney's financial world would stand to gain significantly from that access and control.

Britney has yet to comment on the ruling and it's unlikely that she will be saying anything publicly unless she is granted permission to do so by her father. Since Jamie has taken control of Britney's affairs, she has slowly regained stability and has been able to produce a chart-topping single and album. She is also in the midst of her first major tour in nearly five years. All of this only a year or so removed from what can only be described as very bizarre and disturbing behavior.

With Britney's life seemingly back on track, it will be interesting to see where the pop starlet's career will head.
