Britney Spears Gives Letterman's Top 10 in Bikini

Britney Spears made a triumphant, albeit brief, return to The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday night. Clearly, she's back in pretty good shape and she did a decent job of working with the top 10 list for Dave. Letterman was quick to point out that Britney was in a different pose every time the camera went to her for the countdown.

The Top 10 list was mediocre by Letterman standards, but the point wasn't the jokes - it was Britney returning to Letterman in all of her bikini body glory. And even though she looked great, she's sure to draw tons of comments from bloggers and the media about how she didn't look good enough for that type of appearance.

Many people are quick to forget that Britney's already had two children and that her natural body frame is not that of a rail-thin girl. But alas, Britney made a splash on late-night television once again. It was Britney's first appearance on Letterman since 2006 and she certainly laid the foundation for future appearances.

Now that Britney has managed to stay out of the "crazy spotlight" for the last several months, she may be ready to re-emerge and get back in the public eye a bit more. Of course, all of that will depend on her ability to maintain her poise under pressure, which doesn't seem to agree with Britney.

With her Dad in control of her estate and her career, it seems that Britney is now finding some balance. Perhaps having Dad in control gives Britney the freedom to be more of a sheltered kid - the kind of upbringing she was not able to enjoy as a child star.
