Spears has reportedly told friends that she wants to stop the divorce proceedings and hopes to get Federline back for good. Spears reportedly told Federline recently during a telephone conversation about their children’s custody, "I’m not divorcing you. I want my family back!" A source close to Federline said that he is not interested in a reconciliation and had recently become suspicious that Spears was having second thoughts and was stalling the proceedings. The phone call allegedly turned ugly with Federline stating that he was not interested in reconciling with the Toxic singer. She allegedly threatened to "drag out" the divorce in the hopes that he "saw things her way and came back to her."

Spears has reportedly been telling friends that it was a mistake to split from Federline and says she is desperate to get him back. A source close to Federline said that he is worried about Spears. Said the source, "He thinks she’s mentally unstable and too young to be a mom." The source also said that Federline hopes to have full-custody of sons Sean Preston, 21 months, and Jayden James, 9 months, some day. The friend also said, "He loves his kids and, to that extent, he will look after Britney."

Spears has had a rough time since her split from Federline in November. Her life spun out of control and she was partying hard night after night and eventually ended up in rehab. After she completed a stint at Promises Treatment Facility it seemed as is Spears might be back on the right track, but just recently it was reported that she had begun drinking again. If she isn’t careful she could end up losing custody of her boys.
