Britney Spears Custody Battle Heats Up

It has been reported that people close to Britney Spears have been subpoenaed over the weekend to appear in court about the custody battle.

It was confirmed that Alli Sims, cousin and assistant to Spears, was served a deposition subpoena early Sunday morning after she left a house party in the Hollywood Hills. Reportedly Sims was spotted leaving the party at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning with music producer and ex-Spears’ fling JR Rotem when Aaron Cohen of IMS Security reportedly approached the two and attempted to serve the aspiring pop star. Sims was reportedly "visibly upset" and tried to avoid being served. Sims and Rotem allegedly argued with Cohen and then took off in a friend’s car. Cohen reportedly tossed the papers in an open window in the car. Spears left the same party mere minutes later, but supposedly did not witness the serving.

Just last week it was announced that Spears ex, Kevin Federline, was fighting for primary custody of the couple’s young sons, 23-month old Sean Preston and 11-month old Jayden James. Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, requested the subpoena and is expected to question Sims on every aspect of Spears’ life. The questions will reportedly range from what and how Spears feeds her children to how late they are allowed to stay up. A judge signed off on Spears and Federline’s. Both parties agreed to 50/50 custody of the children and Spears is to pay $15,000 in child support per month to Federline.

Federline has reportedly grown increasingly concerned that Spears is unable to parent the kids to the best of her ability. Kaplan said, "Kevin would like to have as much custody as he could because he feels that the children would benefit from that." He also said that Sims was subpoenaed because she was "believed to have relevant information." Spears and Sims grew up together in Louisiana; it has not yet been confirmed if they are blood related or just BFF.
