Britney Spears’ Breakdown

Spears was reportedly supposed to hand over custody of her sons, 2-year old Sean Preston and 1-year old Jayden James, to ex-husband Kevin Federline’s bodyguard at 7 p.m. on Thursday night. The court appointed monitor had reportedly strapped Sean Preston into his car seat when Spears locked herself in a room with Jayden. The monitor reportedly called the police when she refused to come out of the room. A source said that after a three-hour standoff with the police the cops broke down the door.

It was reported that the police determined that Spears was under the influence of an "unidentified influence" and she was strapped to a gurney and removed from her home. Spears was then transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and will allegedly be kept on a 72-hour lock down for a mental evaluation. Federline arrived at the hospital shortly after Spears and his sons were handed over to him. Spears father, Jamie, was at the hospital Thursday night and her brother, Bryan, was reportedly expected to arrive at the hospital on Friday.

A source close to the family said, "Everyone has been worried for some time. Her world has been crumbling around her and this is another call for help. Her parents are just devastated. Nobody knows if they can take much more, but they’re trying to be as strong as they can." Spears and Federline’s bitter custody battle has been going on since their split in November 2006. Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has reportedly met with Spears’ latest lawyer, Tara Scott, and a judge to request the pop tart be stripped of her visitation rights. Maybe Spears’ latest breakdown will lead to her actually getting the help that she obviously needs.
